I personally prefer Directions over MP, because of durability. I use Osmo Colour Mission Colour save shampoo. Can be found cheap on eBay (im sure) or feelunique.com, 100% Salt and Sulphate Free.
^ Totally agree. I have tried a few other brands, but I always come back to Directions. I also use Osmo Colour Mission shampoo and conditioner (a lot of ladies on here do). If you buy the 1 Litre bottles, they last aggggggges! π
I've had major fading problems with Manic Panic as well. Even without washing my hair. So far, Directions and Stargazer have worked wonderfully for me and for me, Stargazer lasts the longest (even with a shampoo that isn't made for coloured hair). π
I love the red on you! Suits you really well. The last few pictures are a gorgeous shade! π
When I was Live XXL red for nine years I tried all the red shampoos in Boots and several from elsewhere and they were universally stripping and drying. Switch to a gentle sulphate free/ anionic surfactant free shampoo (cocoamidopropyl betaine is probably the gentlest) or better still conditioner-only washing. Use cool water, finish with a dilute vinegar rinse and then use a leave-in instead of a wash out conditioner. If your regular conditioner contains silicones (-cone, -conol, -xane) or some other film formers that can block the dye from taking on your hair.
When i did the manic panic Pillarbox amplified as in my profile pic <<< i put one lot on left if for a couple of hours then took the left over residue off my hair with kitchen roll (all the pigment tend to have gone out of it into your hair and its just like a frothy residue) i then dry it in with the hair drier. Then i put another lot on top of that leave that again 3 hours or so do the same residue removal and dry that in to my hair again, tie it up poop an thin cotton hat type hair cover i made out of soft material over it and sleep in it the hair cover things just to protect the pillow but to be honest all my beddings now dark coloured as a safety measure anyway lol often then i wont rinse it out till the following night, sounds OTT i know but doing this seems to make it last a lot longer
