Thanks to the great help from you guys here on the hair dye forum (much love! ) I have completed my transition from my nasty built up Live XXL real red to a nice refreshed SFX Candy Apple Red.
Here's my before:

So I started with Colour B4, which did an incredible job:

Next step was a bleach bath to help my roots take the new colour and even out my patchy bits:

Not sure I'll use this shade again as it's a bit dark and a bit blue based for what I wanted but I'm happy with how well it's taken.

Love this! And it suits you so well. I really want to jump on the red bandwagon but still have lots of violet and turquoise to go through and my hair literally never fades since I use conditioner to wash which doesn't remove dye at all...

It came out really dark at first, like a really deep burgundy then after 1 wash it went like the above pic but today after another wash it's gone mega bright magenta red but still with a burgundy depth to it. I'll post another pic at weekend when I've washed again and see how it goes by then!
As promised, here's an update, about 3 weeks in now and it's gone way brighter with a pinkish tone. Not very keen on the pink tone so I've got a nuclear red ready in waiting for when this fades a bit more. As it stands though it's lasting super well. (Has been rubbing off onto my hats, bedding and wall behind where I sit quite a bit but that's my own fault coz I cba doing vinegar rinses ) I've not been using any special shampoo or conditioner (coz I kind of want it to fade so I can 'orange' it up a bit ) and I've washed it every three days.

Thanks for sharing these photos! I'm just preparing to go from live xxl red passion to sfx nuclear red in the same way you have. Fantastic job! Can't wait to do mine too 🙂
