Going red!

So I'm dyeing my hair red today.. right now in fact, and I thought I'd update this as I go.

BEFORE

The lightest kinda seafoam green colour right at the top is my own hair, the rest is extensions.

So I started off last night by washing my already faded Enchanted Forest hair 9 times with 3 different shampoos and then doing the whole joico 4 step treatment and shoving some more conditioner on it cos why not.  So it faded to a kind of appley green.  And today I bleached it with Schwarzkopf Live Colour XXL Absolute Platinum.  Here's what it looks like right now

As you can see some of the blue is being stubborn but if anything that'll jsut make it a more purpley red so we'll see hw it works out.  Now I'm off to put the first red in...

Right,  I sectioned off the bit of my hair that I want to be a different red and now the first red (the darkest one) is in.  I can already see that it's going to look really nice with my eyes.  I did it in a bit of a rush as my mum had just made me a cuppa so I sort of look like the victim of a rather unfortunate attack.  But I'm sure it's nothing some face wipes won't fix.  This red by the way is another schwarzkopf one, Plum Perfection.

also I forgot to say, apologies for the lack of make up >_< I left it all at my other house haha

So it's 15:02 now and I'm washing it out at 15:20 (put it in at about quarter to).........

ok NOT HAPPY.

Development time on the leaflet thing was a lie.  Came out a sort of hideous dusky colour.  I had to go and buy more so thats another week of not being able to afford to eat then.

...........

Yay second time lucky!

Added the brighter red, waiting for that to develop.  And god dammit I'm gonna leave it an hour this time.

Fingers crossed but I think it's going to look freakin awesome πŸ˜€

and here's one so you can see how the colours feed into eachother

Just the highlights to do now and then I'm done.  Though I'm not putting any through the fringe as it looks great as it is.  May tip it though. The condition of my hair looks worse than it is

foils ^_^

Aaaaaaand done!

The end of the fringe went pnk which is a bit rubbish but tbh it's pretty frazzled so I may jst get it cut anyway.

Pippa it's a good face for not looking pretentious in pics >_< haha I always feel like I look like a spazz in photos and I think at least if I'm doing it deliberately it doesnt look so bad.

Looking good so far! I like the idea of multi-tonal reds and you can see already (like you said) that it's going to suit you really well! Looking forward to the end result πŸ˜€

Sorry it didn't work first time, do you think it's maybe because it's a semi-dye? A box one? Those things can be tempermental. Glad it's working now πŸ™‚ can't wait to see finished result!

I am a very happy bunny right now πŸ˜€

Kitty I think its just because I didnt leave it to develop for long enough.  I left it for exactly the time it said on the box and the girl on the counter in superdrug said she used to use it and leave it on for an hour to develop.  technically she shouldn't have recommended I leave it on longer than the developing time but you know what? she was right.  I've used the same brand before for about 3 years but I guess I kinda forgot
