Well, I was a little bored with my hair about six weeks ago, so I went back to red. I don't have any pics of the first stage, which came out a little too dark for me, but I decoloured out the black dye, then did a bleach bath. There must have been some staining on the ends from the blue/black shade I was using before, as the ends went green. But I whacked a mix of SFX Blood Red/Adore Truly Red/Adore Intense Red over the top, and it was a dark burgundy-ish colour for about 2 weeks. Then I did another bleach bath to lighten up the ends, and whacked the same mix over the top, with a bit of SFX Devilish mixed in, and this is the result. I have no idea about proportions of dyes, as I just stuck them all in a bowl and mixed and added until it looked about right! I love the colour it's come out, but the only problem is, I don't love it on me. For some reason, I'm just not feeling the red at the moment, so tomorrow I'm going back to blue/black.
On the plus side, my hair has grown loads! This is just over a year's worth of growth after shaving it all off last March!

Thanks ladies! I do love the colour itself, I just don't love it on me, if that makes sense? But I am extremely happy with the growth!

I totally get that! I love pastels, just don't like them on me much, no matter what anyone says 🙂

I don't think I've ever managed to get light enough for pastels, but I don't like blonde on me, so I doubt I'd like pastels on me either! Although I do love them on others.
Well, tis done! I am now blue/black again. Already I feel much more like 'me'! I shall post some pics in a new thread tomorrow when it's dry and styled!

Such an impressive amount of growth... and the red is a gorgeous shade! I get it, though. I never felt like turquoise was a good colour on me (even though many said it was their favourite shade on me). I just never felt like myself. Going to see if you have posted new pics. 🙂 xx
