So finally! I bleached my hair yesterday and dyed it this morning using Directions Plum.
I started applying the Salerm color reverse on my lengths, which is the part that was previously dyed with black box dye, and the result is what you see in the 1st picture.
The bleach left me with quite an uneven base (2nd picture) with some orange and some dark parts. I was scared the dye wouldn't cover it well or would come out bad.
But as you see in the 3d picture, it came out pretty nice! The only problem is that cameras capture it as BLUE! Haha but it's a true deep purple (my dad just opened the door of my room to say good night by the way, and he stared at my hair and smiled, he thinks I'm pretty crazy but after I dye my hair he always likes it xD).
I used one pot and half, with some squirts of conditioner but nowhere as much as to make the dye shift colour as I was afraid of it not covering my hair. I also forgot how long my hair had gotten! And I had to ask my mum for help, without her this would have ended horribly xD
I don't know how this will fade... honestly. But I'll update this post when it does to show you how it went with a base such as mine. Thanks to all your valuable suggestions and information I finally have purple hair! I also used coconut oil and I think it DID help because I ended up having to bleach the lengths after the color reverse, which I never wanted to do. But I'm still unsure of how much coconut oil helps my hair really.
Edit: Now all I'm worried about is the rub off. My sister told me she tried to do a vinegar rinse but it left her with the smell of it and it was pretty horrible. I like vinegar, but don't want to go to uni smelling of it honestly D: Any tips?
Edit 2: Fade update further below in this thread :3 (+2 months)
That's lovely. It suits you x
Thank you! I was worried because I haven't been able to see myself in a mirror around uni and didn't really know if it suited me or not haha. A friend told me I shine. so much. xD
You're welcome!:-). I'm going to dye the ends of my hair purple. x
That's going to rock with your current shade of red!
That's come out lovely! Nicely done! π
Looks lovely π
With the vinegar rinse, use about 1 part vinegar to 5 parts water. I've never had it smell once it's dry with that mix (though if it gets damp it can smell a teeny bit, but not enough for others to notice).
Thank you everyone! For how it went I'm quite pleased!
I'll try the vinegar rinse next time I wash my hair :3
Lovely π
Suits you so much. You look great!
Its really lovely π
It's gorgeous!
It looks nice and i'm glad you got such good even coverage in the end π
so lovely
Thanks everyone! It's lovely and really only looks blue in camera, it changes colour indoors and outdoors and it's an amazing colour. But the rub off is horrible, my neck is purple, my hands and ears too xD I'll try the vinegar rinse this week and I hope it helps a little!
