I applied a mix of Directions Plum and Adore Blue Black that I had diluted down a bit with white conditioner to my base of turquoise yesterday. I was unhappy with my results from trying to use a colour remover on my black. It was a mix of yellow roots, ginger middle and black tips which turq was not successful in blending. π Last pic is what I covered up.
I was aiming for a colour posted here: I want this hair!, and I'd wager I've come pretty close to the pic the OP posted! π I think I could have upped the Blue Black a bit, and diluted it less and come even closer, but since my turq was still going strong and I didn't want to come out looking nearly completely black as Plum neat is known to do... I did dilute it down by probably about 30%. I'm well chuffed!
The first and second pics were taken under indoor broad spectrum lighting. I just blew it dry - there isn't any product in it (which can sometimes make it look darker in my experience). It's much deeper/darker indoors. Third pic is outdoors in full direct sunlight. It is much more blue in the sunlight, but I think that is my turquoise base poking through. π
It looks really lovely π
I love it. Might try this if I get a job. =D
oh that's gorgeous!
Looks fabulous!
beautiful ♡
Lovely colour! Looks fab! I also found that Adore Blue black did have quite a blue tint to it in sunlight, but that could have been because I mixed mine with Directions Midnight blue! I did want the intensified blue look though!
Thanks ladies! If I do this mix again, I might try using the Black Velvet to see if it makes much of a difference in the sunlight. It really doesn't bother me much, tbh, I kinda like that it looks more blue in the sun. Indoors, it's definitely purple! π It honestly must be a good shade for me, because it's not shocked anyone so far... in fact, my husband and my oldest son didn't notice until I said something. π
Lovely π
That's gorgeous π
Beautiful π
The fade on this went very, very blue... and I'm finding that I just don't feel myself with the cooler shades. I'd like to start working my way back around through purple to red and eventually to ginger anyhow. Last evening, I popped some SFX Candy Apple over the fade, and left it set for about 2.5 hours.
The first before/after was taking last evening right after I shampooed the dye out and dryed it up. The second set of pics were take today outdoors; the first in the shade, the second in direct sun. It's hard to capture, because in certain lighting it's very much purple (especially under fluorescent lighting), but in the sun I see much more of the red. I really like how dark it is right now! It's helping with my desire to just go back to black. We'll see how this fades! π
It's a shame you're not keen on the cooler colours because I love them on you, but I know how you feel π and you certainly tried! This looks great π
Perhaps I will try again with the turquoise. I didn't mind that so much, but I struggled with it the two tone after my new cut. Thanks, Janine. π
It's really nice :D.
