I got this colour by mixing 1 pot of Directions Dark Tulip and 1 pot of Directions Rubine, I applied it to dry hair and my base was a faded bright red - a salmon pink mostly, with some orangey strands.
Next time I am going to use either 2 pots of Directions Plum or I might even mix the Plum with something as I would like it a little darker and not a pinky purple.
Beautiful colour π
That is really a pretty shade! Your hair looks so healthy, too! π
I got a similar result putting diluted SFX Pimpin Purple over a faded bright red base. I've never used Directions dye, but I'm considering Plum to get a little more purple as my roots grow out since I'm not sure I'll be able to duplicate this colour in the future.
It's pretty close to that colour everyone else wants! It's gorgeous!
This is what virgin rose came out like for me, pretty π
Gorgeous!
I've mixed Plum and Dark Tulip, but be careful with the Plum - it's so strong that it overpowers most things. You won't need very much to mix!
That's really pretty π
what colour did you use for your red? the faded colour is the exact colour i am wanting to go lol π
Ive made this color with MP vampire red with 1/2 a jar of Hot Hot Pink and a dash (a table spoon or two) of After Midnight blue. It seems to be my go to color.
Yours is beautiful!!!!
Lovely color!
Is it as pinky magenta as it looks in the pic? If so, I'm really tempted to try this. Got both colours lying around!
Thank you everyone
Feels weird having a darker shade, missing my bright red if I'm honest but do really like this colour too.

I was using a 50/50 mix of Crazy Color Fire and Vermillion red. I faded it by washing with head and shoulders and 2 head and shoulders/lemon juice/washing up liquid mixes and then I used a box of Decolour Remover and that was the result (in 3rd pic)... I think it may have lightened just as much if I kept up with more head and shoulder washes but I got lazy and wanted to hurry things up so used the Decolour remover.

Depending on the ligthing it can look darker. It is definitely a more pinky purple though and I would imagine it will fade to a very pinky magenta colour. The pictures above were taken directly in front of a window so very bright natural light, but in artificial light or duller lighting it appears more of a darker pinky purple than it is in those pictures.
I mainly used these two colours because I saw a photo of someones hair after using them together and I really liked the colour her hair turned out (I am not sure I can post the pic but in an image search on google for 'rubine and dark tulip' it should be the first image that pops up - girl tilting her head), and I would say this is what my hair colour looks like when not in front of a window directly after dyeing and not yet been washed.
Looks really nice, it's a very deep colour. Love the way it's turned out on you too!
Wow it has 'faded' brighter! Rubine has always faded very pink for me too, it is a great colour but nothing like the dark almost natural red of the swatch. I love this fade, it looks stunning.
