Deep Purple five weeks on....

I am just so incredibly impressed with the staying power of my SFX 50/50 Deep Purple/Wild Flower mix after 5 weeks (and every other day washing), that I just had to post some pics of the fade (or lack of in this case!).  First two pics are the pics from having just done the colour, then the last two were taken yesterday evening, five weeks on!  Bear in mind that in the first two pics, my hair is wet, so looks darker than it actually is, and in the last pic, the flash has made it look slightly more faded than it is.  And no pink in sight so far!  I am super impressed!

Wow, that's brilliant!  It looks so good XD

I have to say, SFX has brilliant staying power--my cupcake lasted forever and my blue velvet mix is only slightly less inky than when I first did it.

Thank you!  I am particularly impressed with this mix because I don't like pink and there's no dreaded pink fade in sight that usually happens with purples!  I suspect that my roots will get unbearable long before the dye reaches a pinky fade stage!

There's barely no fade, it still looks as lovely as ever! Really considering switching to sonic green just for the staying power of SFX 🙂

Do it!  SFX is awesome!  I never use anything else now!  May be more expensive, but totally worth it as you save money by not having to re-dye as often.

Exactly the reason I mixed SFX Wild Flower into Deep Purple. I love the shade of Deep Purple, but I hate pink, so I really didn't want a pink fade, which it seems DP on it's own does go to.  But WF is a lovely light blue based purple, so it counteracted the pink fade a treat!

Woah, that's awesome - I can't believe how long you've had it without it fading 😀

Update - I have noticed today that there is a section around the back (which is why I didn't notice it before!) which has faded to an almost pastel shade at the ends of the hair, but it's still not pink!  I suspect this may be due to the fact that the ends of my hair would have had the most bleach/lightening damage, so this is probably the reason, also, I may have not applied the dye entirely evenly and got not so good coverage at the back of my head.  Either way, I'm still really impressed with the lack of fade over most of my head!

That's really good fade Mindi, I like how it doesn't go too pink. Clearly combining the deep puple and wildflower has made a difference. I almost did a half and half with plum and violet but went for the plum instead, I guess seeing from your results I should have risked it to get something similar.

Debbielou, I find the fade on plum can be quite nice and gradual if you leave the dye on for a really long time, and make sure you start with a light enough base ie. yellow not orange. I've had it on for five weeks and it's still a deep royal purple.

Yummysweets - I'd definitely recommend the SFX combo I've used if you don't like pink fade!  The Wild flower is a light enough purple that it doesn't interfere with the richness of the Deep Purple colour, just adds a more blue tinge to the fade to avoid the pink!  I wasn't sure it'd do what I wanted it to when I tried it, but am delighted with the results!

Plum is a nice colour, but it just didn't work on me.  I've always found that Directions don't last at all on my hair anyway, and unfortunately, Plum was no exception!
