I love pink and orange too! I'd do a pink and orange cruella if I was brave enough but I'm not - but your pink and orange gradient looks AWESOME! I might try it when my hair grows more π
What an awesome colour combo... you look smashing in the pink and orange dreads!!! π
caz241 Keep going, you'll get there!
Thanks, my hair grows slowly at the best of times, at least with dreads I'm hoping one day it'll grow longer than I've been able to grow it before, but I knew it would be a slow process. It'll be worth it in the end π
A question I have always wondered- when your new hair grows and you have dreads, do you have to do anything to the roots or does it just dread itself?
You just leave them to it pretty much once they're established.
^ What she said ^ Once they're dreaded they knot themselves up as they grow. All I have to do is make sure I use the right dreadlocks shampoo to keep the hair "grippy" so no conditioners or perfumed products (loads of perfumed hair care products contain perfume oil and oil makes dreads unravel). As long as I do that the dreads turn out just fab.
Thanks for all the compliments, lovely peoples!
Ohhh, they look so lovely! How did you start out your dreads? π x
There's a website called DreadHeadHQ which sells dread starter kits, I got one of those. You wash your hair in the special shampoo, section it in little elastic bands, as thick or thin as you want, rub in some "lock peppa" which smells totally like root beer lol! Back comb each section then roll it in your palms then wax it with dread wax. After that leave it for about a month I think before you wash it in the special shampoo again. At the start you need to leave it a while, like I say I think it was about a month then every few weeks wash it with the special shampoo, wait a day, lock peppa and palm roll, followed by wax again. You really need to keep on top of it at the start then after 6 months or a year if you miss a wash or two it's not so bad.
