I've been ginger since the beginning of September courtesy Adore Cajun Spice mixed with Adore Sienna Brown. I love it so much that I've decided I want to keep it on a more permanent basis. I took the henna plunge, and I am so very chuffed with the result!!!
This is LUSH Caca Rouge over my bleached hair. I didn't fade the Adore dyes at all, I just plonked the muddy mess right over top. I mixed it with boiling water in a bain marie, applied it with a tint brush and wrapped my head in cling film. I wore a beanie over the cling film to keep the henna warm (I read this was better for more red colour development). I left it on for about 3.5 hours before I couldn't stand the mud leaking down the back of my neck. The smell of LUSH's henna wasn't completely off-putting, but I did start to get a little bit of headache after this amount of time. Of note, I am typically sensitive to any strong smells anyway. After I rinsed, the colour was quite a bit lighter than my Adore dyes started out... but after the course of four days, the henna developed into this rich ginger. π
I am torn on whether or not to continue bleaching my roots, or to let my natural brown come in and henna over top of that. I am so in love with the ginger that I'm afraid I'll be sad if it's too dark... I need to think about my roots soon... so I'll see once in a few weeks how I'm feeling on it.
Thanks for letting me share! π
That is beautiful!
Lovely shade π
Thank you!! π
Gorgeous colour.
Ginger suits you very well π
That's lovely. I might be tempted to use Henna when I've got a decent base, but I'm afraid of how permanent it is! It's so pretty though.
perfect ♡
Cheers for the lovely replies! π
I don't think I'll have trouble with boredom since I was bright red for nearly 10 months before I started changing up my colour. If I was one to bore easily or fancied a change often, I wouldn't be as tempted by the henna.
its gorgeous so natural π and your natural roots blend in really nicely π
Beautiful result! π Ginger really suits you π
