Attempt to Adore Medium Brown and CC Hot Purple dip dye [HEAVY PICS]

Hi everybody !

Bored by a colour which stay the same since November 2012 because of my job and my studies, I decided to test to do my hair darker than my natural hair colour for the first time, despite my envie of white hair (it's impossible with my job  πŸ™ ).

I ordered Adore Medium Brown from Beeunique, and wanted to attempt to a dip dye, and choose Hot Purple which was staying in my bathroom since a so long time.

I let the dye on my hair for 1 hour.
The heavy diluted Hot Purple dip dye tips become a sort of really really pale yellow, close to white. Most of my hair take the Adore dye well, but not everywhere. My roots seems take the dye just a little, just enough to mix with the darkest lengh !

The left side of my hair take the dye better than the right side, but I don't know why !!  *puzz*

Anyway, I REALLY love the result ! My hair is shiny, full of brightness and silkyness ! Adore dye smells so gooood !
I think I will just re-make a try on the patchiness part which not take the dye well !

Piccieeees ! (sorry for the quality, I just have my cellphone...)

My hair before

With the dye on

The result on artificial light

The result on natural light

Any advice to improve it ?
Better let the tips like that or colour it (I have green, violet, red, silver, and pink dye  πŸ˜‰ ) ?

What do you think of the result  πŸ˜€ ?

It turned out great! πŸ˜€ I can't really see the purple bits though, maybe it's just my computer screen πŸ™‚

No it's not a computer problem, it's not really violet ! It just turn my blond bits whiter, but the pictures shows some violet tints ! I think I'll just re-dye over it with stronger violet mix πŸ˜€

Oh hi there fellow French lady! πŸ™‚

I really love this on you, very pretty! I agree that the tips are really nice as they are, also any of the colors you listed would also look really good, so just go with whatever you wanna do.

I think your hair looks nice as it is.
From what i know violet doesn't show up very well on hair unless it's on white hair or really light hair.
So if you want your tips more purple i'd try a dark purple.
I have read that pimpin purple (special effects) is really good though i haven't used it my self as i tend to use just directions dyes now.

I already have violet hair and I had just put the dye over yellow hair (very bright yellow) to obtain a very good looking bright violet.
I think it's just don't work there because I heavy diluted the dye to try to have a lilac colour, but as I was thinking before of doing it, it make my hair white like a toner, and not violet! πŸ˜‰

I think I real re-do the brown tomorrow morning, will post pictures if I do it, to have a better result πŸ˜€ will see if I re-do the violet too !

I like the shade on you! I think another application of the dye should short the patchiness and even up your colour.  I don't really see any hint of the violet on your ends on my computer monitor.  I think a stronger diluted purple would looks ace with that brown!  From my experience... diluting SFX Pimpin Purple got me a fuchsia colour... not anything close to purple.  Just to forewarn you.  πŸ˜‰

Thanks πŸ˜€

I only have CC Hot Purple at home so this is what I will use πŸ˜‰ diluted, it give a nice shade of lilac, and that's what I am aiming for πŸ˜€

I'm really happy how it turned, because I was so stressed by the result, I never be as dark as that !
It match my eyebrows so much better and my skin tone too !

Do you think the time I let the dye on could be the problem ? I only left it 1 hour (I'm so impatient when I have dyes on my hair haha πŸ˜€ and I'm so impatient for tomorrow!). Can it have a consequence ?

In my personal experience, leaving it on longer does help.  If you can go even 2 hours, I think it makes a big difference in how well the dye covers and lasts.
