Thanks. I've bought it now so I guess I'll just have to try it and see what happens!
I'm getting a full head of blonde highlights soon and wanted a brown base for the highlights to go over. I guess mocha wasn't the best choice if it's warm because I'm not really sure a warm brown with highlights looks as good as a cool brown/neutral... I'm also wondering if the mocha will just fade to reveal my bleached ginger hair underneath eventually? Cos it's not like I'll be able to pick out all the highlights myself to redye the rest.
Can anyone please advise? π
If your base is ginger then the green (ash) base in the Mocha should neutralise it. Mocha can't be both warm toned and green based.
Wicked Pixie, I said it was green based, because I read that in another thread, I was certainly left with a faint greenish tinge to the blonde roots (the natural part) of my hair. Mocha's definitely a pretty warm brown though. The Medium brown was a lot cooler.
Mocha didn't do anything to neutralize my red, but I expect that's because the red is from henna, and that shines through anything you put over it.
So can someone please clear this up for me then, lol. What base does mocha have?
Mocha has a very very green base and is an ash brown, so a slight green might show through your blonde although tbh on my bleached part it doesn't really go green. It goes from the mocha brown to a light yellowy brown then back to what was underneath. I have pictures here.

If your base is ginger, then it should help neautralise it a little bit but still be strongly brown. I agree that any red AngelGabrielle has must be shining through her strong henna as she says because mocha is not warm based.
hellooo π
I used French Cognac a couple of weeks ago, over a mid brown base with light brown highlights. It went a really nice auburn-y shade initially, hasn't faded much yet but one thing that is becoming apparent is that the fade will be quite yellow. That's not disastrous and I'm not gonna worry about it unduly, but when I top up my colour I think I'd like something with slightly more orange-y undertones. My slice highlights are also quiteeee dramatic and I think I'd like them a little more subtle. I'm attaching a photo taken just now so you can see what I mean with the yellow-ness!
I'm slightly confused given that the white paper test I did made the dye look quite pink. But when I mixed it into my conditioner it was quite clearly yellow based! Based on what you guys know about the Adore shades do you think a mix of cinnamon/cajun spice might be better for me? The swatches on Moderator removed competitors name. Please don't advertise Beeuniques compition, as BU funds this forum. make me think so.
I forgot to take a pic, but basically XXL Live Platinum took a faded reddy-pink to a medium pastel-pink, so if I had faded it more it probably would have taken it down to a candyfloss colour.
Has anyone have a photo of honey brown on their hair? π
I put a 75/25 mix of cajun spice and paprika on my head yesterday, it's s pretty lovely ginger π

Please post a pic! I'd love to see it. I'm aiming for ginger in the autumn months, and have been trying to decide which shades of Adore to mix. Those two are on my list, but not together. π
Daftscrawl I would also love to see a picture π

If you go back one page Ilex put an example of it on a blonde extension piece and it looks lovely. In a couple weeks time I will be putting it over brown hair.
Thank you, I completely missed it! aha π It does look lovely! π Be excited to see your results!
Sorry it took so long, I hardly use my laptop anymore so uploading photos takes longer.
75% Cajun with 25% paprika outside on a cloudy day, it is a little bit less red than the photos are making it out to be.
hoping linking straight from drop box works, I'm feeling lazy.
Oh my gosh! That is LOVELY!!! π Thanks so much for sharing the pics! What was your base colour?
a faded minty blue, roughly This colour I think the red in the paprika managed to cancel out any negative effects it might have had.
You can kind of see what it might be like on white roots in other the head down photo, I do have some others that show the orangier roots but I suffer from chronic bitch face it appears.
