Same question here! Sort of like Sophie Turner's red hair when she plays Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones. <3
That top picture is absolutely stunning... I think I've found my new hair crush! I am looking for similar information to you; I'd like to know more about the ginger shades because they look amazing. Cajun spice might be worth a go for you?
My aim is for something a bit more auburn-y, kinda like the pic I attach. I have a temp golden brown on at the moment, roots about 1cm and my base is a beautiful brassy yellow that I got from JoBaz. Ideally I'd like some highlights and lowlights, so I'm considering buying a ginger and a brown, doing highlights with the ginger and lowlights with the brown, and then colouring the rest of my hair with a mix of the two to make auburn. But staying power might be a problem, I'm really bored of my hair needing to be dyed every other week! Also I'm getting quite grey, which at 21 years old is rather embarrassing... do Adore dyes have good grey coverage?

Yes, it's awesome, huh! My hair used to be quite like that (slightly darker probably) but I used peroxide-based box dyes (which faded really fast anyway) so I want switch to veggie dyes.
And yes, Cajun Spice! Or maybe French Cognac, Ginger, Paprika, Sunrise Orange or even Orange Blaze (but probably too neon) or Cinnamon (but probably too dark, maybe this one's more for you), haha!
Hi - hope you don't mind me chipping in to ask for advice, please? I'm really interested in the Adore dyes because so many of their reds look natural, and even soft, wheras I find most of the other MP-style dyes to yield very clear, pure colours.
When I was about ten, my mum finally gave in to my pleas for red hair, and for years afterwards I used this dye - and I loved it. I kept it like that until my scalp couldn't cope with harsh chemical processing any more, and I had to stop, and then I went on to henna and fashion dyes and spent ages doing many insane things with length, cut and colour that I will never regret! But now I want to try to regain that first, perfect red now, since that has always been the colour that has felt most like 'me'. I was thinking maybe Adore cinnamon or paprika might work, applied straight over natural light brown/auburn hair? I want to avoid yellow tones - I'm not sure if you can tell from the pictures, but the dye had a soft, almost pinky-brown undertone which balanced out the copper really well...
Looking at the colour charts (I never used Adore myself) I'd say Cinnamon might work.
I actually opened up this topic to ask you girls who tried these dyes out, do you have any tips for applying them? From what I could read on here it seems they are really liquid and runny...
I use a tint brush to do the contoures and then apply it just like shampoo to the rest of hair.
I think KittyLost mixes adore dyes with a bit of white, cone free conditioner to thicken them up.
I used cinnamon yesterday, and it looks awful, but my hair is a huge problem anyway (can't remember if I said earlier in the thread, but I have 7 - 8" of blonde roots, and the rest has henna which I'm growing out)
I've been dying it brown to try to blend the two colours, this is only partly successful because the Adore washes out so fast.
So I hit on the idea of trying to get the natural color part to go red, to match the majority of hair (which is past waist length)
This didn't work at all, as on the henna'd hair it took on a nasty pinky color (as opposed to the copper it was already) and on the roots it's sort of pinky orange. Good thing it washes out! ;D
This probably isn't relevant to anyone else, but it does show that Cinnamon comes out quite a pinkish color as opposed to orangey (which was the tone I wanted when I used henna)
I've had most luck with Mocha so far incidentally!

I'm really sorry you didn't get the colour you wanted - I've been exactly where you are, trying to grow out years of henna, and it isn't always a lot of fun... If it's any consolation, though, you will get there in the end, even if it feels like it's taking forever! I got frustrated and just cut the hennaed part off after a while, leaving me with some pretty weird layers until it grew...
May I be really cheeky, though, and ask if I could possibly see a picture of the shade the cinnamon dye went on your roots, please (or a picture that looks similar, maybe)? I understand if you'd rather not, of course - I just hope you don't mind being asked?
My hair is black at the moment, I've been using a Nice & Easy demi every six weeks or so but tried Perfect 10 permanent colour last week as it was on offer -- the colour has already washed off my roots 🙁 I'm going to order Adore jet black and give it a try, hoping it'll stick to my roots as they recently been processed.

I got it everywhere on my first attempt, and Mindi suggested an applicator bottle. I use one every time now, and it works like a dream 😀

I'll add to be careful to check the nape of your neck as the heat from your head will turn the already thin dye into liquid... and it runs like crazy!!! I found this out the hard way, and didn't realize I had dye running until it ran clear down my back since it was warm. o.O The next time I wrapped my head in cling film and then my OH helped me tuck folded cotton squares around the bottom to help stop any runny dye. That helped, but it was still messy! 😀
^^^ Great point! The heat from my head under my shower cap turned it to pure liquid and I didn't realise until it dripped off of my forehead and made a dot on my yoga mat (I always sit on it while waiting for dye to set because it's comfy and you never know when something like that will happen--better to stain the mat than the carpet or the sofa).
I now have a tighter-fitting shower cap and it hasn't dripped out from under that yet.
Freija, sorry, but my roots are no longer pink! I washed my hair a couple of times with clarifying shampoo and although there's a slight unnatural glow right at the top of my head, they look much better,
I usually wash my hair every 3 days, but I just had to try to get some of the color out!
Yes, the growing out of henna is a nightmare, I so regret using it! I just cut 3 inches off my hair, but it's still about an inch past my waist. I know I'll have to cut all the henna'd part off at some point, but I can't do it yet as my hair would be ear length! Even chin length would be way to short for me, I had my hair cut into a chin length bob a few years ago and it was awful to style, I had to buy straighteners, which I'd never allowed near my hair up to that point! ;D
Incidentally, about applying the Adore dyes - this will probably sound odd, but what I've been doing is first washing and towel drying my hair (I wash my hair leaning over the bathtub), then putting a couple of newspapers in the bottom of the bath (because these dyes DO stain the bath) then applying the dye with disposable gloves on.
All the drips (and there are always drips!) have been caught on the newspapers, so the bath isn't a mess afterwards.
I didn't think of doing this until the second time I used Adore. The first time (I used Mocha) I had to scrub the bath with bleach to get rid of the dye that had splashed everywhere.
I haven't been using vaseline or any barrier round my hairline like you're supposed to, but any dye on my face comes off easily with a babywipe or face wipe.
AngelGabrielle - Glad it's looking better! I'm just trying to decide whether to go for it now: pinkish copper is good, but just pink, not so much so... : / I probably will, though, especially if it washes out that quickly.
When I cut out the henna, it ended up in a pixie and growing out was dreadful (I avoid heat styling too - the last time I used straighteners was years ago). It was my first year at uni, too, and all of the girls in my flat had blonde hair down their backs, so I was very much the odd one out. You could always maintain your length at waist, trimming it every couple of months until it's gone - that way you won't ever have to have a big cut?
