Looks nice π
Kittylost - I've sent mine to beeunique and reviewed raging red. I can't wait to see the adore gallery once it's ready! π
Lauraaa that colour looks really lovely in the photos!!! I know it's a let down when it doesn't turn out how you expected but that is gorgeous. You can always use the dye in mixes, it doesn't have to be a total waste! π
I know but if you see my pic in the red section you"ll see that the difference is minimal π I have a tiny bit left of the orange blaze. I might try and mix it up with something and leave it on my roots over night to try and match...luckily im naturally ginger so my roots arnt TOO bad. I might try a bleach bath before I use cajun spice or crimson, ive never done that though so need to do lots of reading first..
Just a quick snap of (still a bit damp at the ends) of Adore Cinnamon on my hair. It's washed out a bit since that was taken, I'm going to try this time with Copper Brown and Mocha mixed together as the ends and my roots are definitely darker than the bit next to my roots, so I'm hoping this should even things out a bit.
Currently sat with wild cherry on my faded blod red and vermillion.
The consistency is ather runny, I had to add some thick conditioner to try and make it more manageable.
Looks a nice colour a the moment, will post apic when its washed and dry =)
I want to try another brown, previously used Mocha and liked it. I mix it up in my conditioner and leave it on every 2weeks for a few hours just to change up my natural brown hair a bit. My friend says go for Honey but I'm a bit more tempted by the medium brown or chocolate and I can't decide.
Also I can't decide between Aquamarine or Indigo Blue and just diluting the Indigo Blue when I need it to be a bit lighter for my extensions.
Has anyone had any luck dying virgin hair with this brand? Im tempted to buy some directions to mix with it as it took to my hair pretty well before.
It washes pretty quickly out of natural hair cause it isnt processed so much that it can stick to it but i've found that with all the veggie dyes.
I did a liitle collection of adore-red impressions.
I went from Wild Cherry to Crimson via Raging to Intense Red and back to Crimson, recently - including several mixes.
What colour was your base for your wild cherry? It's lovely!
I've been pillarbox / vermillion red before. Naturally my hair is dark brown, so I use "contrast" dyes like Maji or Poly Wild Lights to bleach my roots.
I can't tell about the dye lasting on natural hair, but when I have just touched up the roots, I can see clearly that on these "fresh" parts the dye does not stick so well as on parts which have had several layers of dye before.
KittyLost - if you're tempted by the chocolate then I think you'll be a lot happier with the darker browns in the range. Colours like sienna brown and mahogany came out too light for my liking and felt like they didn't have as good coverage. Mocha is my favourite brown I have used so far and I'll be mixing it with my other browns to make them richer in the future.
I'm using it to cover blonde roots and henna'd lengths. It actually sticks better to the unprocessed roots (about 6" long) than the rest, even though I haven't actually put henna on the lengths for at least a year, and I would have thought the henna "coating" should have worn off by now.
I've used mocha and medium brown, The medium brown is a bit better for me, as it's a less warm color than the mocha.
I might try dark brown next time. I looked at them all in a shop where they had those hair swatches, which gives a better idea of the actual color than looking on a computer screen. As I want to tone down red, the medium and dark brown seemed a better bet than the mocha and chocolate which look much warmer.
It doesn't make my hair look all one color, but it's an improvement. My hair's past waist length, so it will take years to grow out the henna!
Thanks Lollipop! I'm gonna go with the chocolate. I do like mocha but just wanting to try different ones as its a relatively new range to me π
I was very impressed with my 30/70 SFX nuclear red and adore raging red mix. It's come out a strong 'Ariel' type red which I wasn't expecting, given the darkness of the dye itself. If it has a slow, strong fade I may have found my ideal red mix! I'll post pictures soon as possible.
Has anybody used Adore Darkest Brown on a ginger/yellow or faded red base? I am going to fade my red and then apply a brown Adore dye on my hair. I wanted to buy Medium Brown from Beeunique but there isn't enough in stock (I need 2 bottles). I am now thinking of maybe trying Darkest Brown instead but I am worried it will come out too dark. In the past, although they were permanent dyes, when I have dyed my hair with a dark brown dye it came out almost black :o... I am not sure if that can happen with semi perm dyes though.
Just wanted to add my adore directions 50/50 mix hasnt faded at all after 3 washes, not even my roots. Nor have i had any rub off onto clothes apart from when wet. I was actually hoping for a nice fade haha thankfully i love the colour.
