Aye, I've snipped a couple of bits of hair and clingfilmed them up with some adore cinnamon (on the redder piece) and some CC Sky Blue (on the blonder/greener piece) and stuck them in my bra for warmth. (Sort of makes them sound like tiny lost baby animals...) Will leave it on for an hour or two and see what's underneath...
ETA - just as well I didn't put the blue on my head, it's gone quite a nice sort of navy, but would obviously fade badly, and is definitely not remotely what I was after. The Cinnamon has gone a very nice auburn, even over the greenish (slightly Midnight Blue-stained) bit of the strand, so I'll be putting that on, I think.
I think it's worked! I didn't condition to see how it came out, and it's pretty dry, but the colour is nice (going to try to take a picture where I don't look like an idiot to post later/tomorrow). It does feel soft, just in a dry way? Have put a bit of coconut and walnut oil on it to hopefully help a bit. Seems to vary from a nice auburn to fairly orange depending on the light, but it's evened out the patchiness a lot. I also didn't find it as runny as I expected it, I gave it a good shake and I guess it was a similar consistency to box dyes, so I used a tint brush around my hairline/parting and then splodged it all over the rest of my hair by hand.

Sorry to ask such a specific question, but since there aren't any gallery photos up yet, and the swatches for Adore seem to be deceptive I thought I'd try here. Which of the Adore dyes produce a vibrant, true red? I'm thinking something pretty luminous, but perhaps not quite as bright as nuclear red. Preferably orange based.
Well, Crimson and Raspberry Twist are definitely pink-based and went a bright, true red over my orange lengths, so I would think if you mixed one or both of those with Orange Blaze that might work.
I can also confirm that raging red lasts soooo well. I mixed a bit with mocha and got a dark red colour. I have to dye it brown today for work *ott* but it doesn't need dyeing even though it was 3 weeks ago that it has been near any kind of dye! NO semi has ever lasted his long and I still have 2 more full dye jobs in the bottle. (fine hair 2-3 inches past collar bone) Oh and I have washed it a lot too. A least every other day since I dyed it and I smothered it in coconut oil last night.
It looks a lot like the 2nd photo above me posted by Purpurkopf. I have been trying to get a decent photo of it. Lot's of them came out way brighter than it really is but this one's pretty darn close to reality! Excuse the dressing gown I refuse to get dressed on dye days whahah!!
I give it this many stars >> ********
side note: I am not as impressed with the mahogany because it was lighter than I thought and faded faster than the red or mocha.
(I had to rewrite this darn post because loading the pic screwed it all up argh!)
Ooh, Raging looks lovely! I'll mix it with the remainder of my Nuclear and see what happens. Ta lovelies x
I've got Ginger, Cajun Spice, Sunrise Orange and Paprika in my shopping cart and am unsure which ones to go with! I kind of want to order a maximum of two dyes... Anyone that could help me out?
The reds in the attachments are the reds I'm aiming for, I'm a natural light blonde myself. π I am aware they're different kind of reds... ^^ Like which dyes to go for for the more flaming copper, and which dyes for the more natural ginger/red colour?
I think I'd have to go with Adore Ginger for the 3rd attachment, am I right?
I was in your shoes...i end up ordering 2 paprika, 2 cajun spice, copper brown, cinnamon, orange blaze, and crimson...over spent slightly lol thought id play ably with mixing colours.
Please keep me updated on what you're up to! π
Frou - You might like sienna brown. I put it over a faded red base and freshly bleached roots, as you'd expect it came out more red on the ends but my roots were similar to the photos you've posted. I liked the colour but wasn't happy with the unevenness due to my base colour so I changed it pretty quick but it faded a bit after the first few washes.
On another note I dyed my hair with Adore Mocha mixed with a little Mahogany (1:4 approx) and this is the result! It's got a lot of red undertones in the light because of the colour it was before dying, my previous post with the red hair photo was taken on the day of dying it this colour. I am happy with the result! I love how dark and rich the Mocha is. I would prefer to be red though but I need to get this job! π
Mahogany would have come out a lot lighter if used on it's own, Mocha is what made it so dark.
Anyways!! I hope this gives you a good idea on what to expect from Mocha! Rinsing the tint bowl I noticed there wasn't any red tones in the dye mix. I'll report back on what the fade is like!
I did a liitle collection of adore-red impressions.
I went from Wild Cherry to Crimson via Raging to Intense Red and back to Crimson, recently - including several mixes.
What colour was your base for your wild cherry? It's lovely!
Wow that colour chart is usful! its exactly what i need! Thank you!
Now sitting with orange blaze on my head π cant wait to see how it turns out! This dye really goes a long way doesnt it, my hairs quit long and thick and only needed the one bottle, I even finished applying before the dye ran out!
Everyone who has posted pictures of their adore hair dye results, please email them into beeunique for the gallery. They're all beautiful and they help us see what these new dyes are like π
RockinLollipop when I use Mocha in my conditioner it goes all greeny so it's definately ash based, love your results π
Orange blaze barely changed my hair π it gave some of my dyed hair an orange sheen but didnt even tint my roots. Im rather worried I have 7 bottles of dye that are useless to me.
