I Want to Eat Your Hair!

The title was spoken to me yesterday at rehearsal. The director told me I'm not allowed to change my hair as of now (but I still have to wear a red Marilyn wig for the show). And on the walk home, I was stopped by an older woman with enviable long, silver hair to tell me just how much she liked my hair!

I wish I had been feeling better yesterday. Still under the weather today. I didn't style it, except to pony it up. I feel really bad about my face, which is really unfair to my poor face, but I got pictures.

This was an experiment with the new Ion Brilliance Brights, as well as using so many colors on my own head. They come in small tubes of highly pigmented gels. Much more difficult to dilute than the Directions Flamingo Pink I also used. Colors took reasonably well, with some patchiness on my dingier, more porous ends. The Ion and Directions mixed with each other to gorgeous results! I think my favorite color is the periwinkle blue I created with Ion's Sky Blue and Flamingo!

The purple diluted to a mucky brownish purple, hence the mix! Might try it if I need a dark purple, or a beige blonde.

I can see tons of places where I could improve things. It's a good starting off point. I'll see how things fade, then make it better.

Tempted to just make the whole thing mermaid-y, but I like myself in pinks. Other people seem to like the whole thing more than I do...

Aw, thanks. I'm going to stick it in rag curlers if I have time today, and see if that changes the way I feel about it. Some parts are love. Others are meh.

Thanks! It looks a lot better curly. Going to make that effort more often. Also going to fix the right side, so it's as vibrant as the left...

These Ion blues have not faded in the slightest bit! It would be very exciting if I didn't sort of want them to fade, so I could put more colors on!

Looks great! Does the blue stain skin? I used the purple and fuschia from Ion and neither left any stains on my skin whatsoever, and yet is sticking in my hair very well. I want to do blue next, but it'll be a while.

No staining at all! It doesn't even leave my suds blue when I try to fade it with harsh shampoo. I'm hoping daily scrubs might fade it enough to make it look icy by my birthday in 2 weeks...

But yeah, the sky blue was a good investment, even diluted!
