Just wanted to show you all the hair I was absolutely in love with after doing my roots last night.
The lengths are what the vermillion/nuclear/cherry bomb mix faded down to. I would have kept it for a week or so if work would have allowed!
My camera unfortunately focused on the wardrobe, so it looks like I have a bald spot on my crown, but you get a great idea of my current colour.

I thought you might want to see it all backcombed in prep for the red-orange dip dye. I'm not sure why I have duck lips!

I decided to do just do the nuclear/cherry bomb mix for now, so it's just two colours ... but I might add some candy apple over the top next weekend.

Well ... I've rinsed it and ... it's currently two different shades of red : / So an ombre, but not *quite* what I was going for!
I know some oranges can start out reddish, so I'm going to wash it every day this week to see if it goes orangey ... if not, I'll do a quick 15 minute bleach on the ends and redo the orange next weekend.
I'm kinda disappointed, but as my OH said, there's still plenty of time left to get it orange.

I think it's because the ends were kind of red-orange (as you can see), since there was more red staining it. So the orange just kind of ... didn't go orangey. I was hoping it would bump the orange up in the red-orange, but it looks like the red tones on the ends just ate it.
Hopefully regular washing will get the red out,; it is a lighter red so I have hope that by next weekend it might go orange. If not, then I'll do a very quick little bleach on the ends and lighten them to a light ginger so they go super-orange. So we're still in Part 1. I won't rest until I have orange tips!

could you not pop some head and shoulders on the ends to get them to go less reddy?xx

😀 Glitter, you must be a bit psychic ^_^ I've been thinking of putting dish soap on the ends to force the red out! I've already washed my hair twice today, though (once before dying and then again after), and I just really don't have the energy to do it a third time. Tomorrow, though!
