Had a miscalculation yesterday, I mixed Adore African Violet and Indigo Blue diluted with conditioner (error) which looked utterly gorgeous in the bowl but on my weird ginger-greeny-blonde base from hell, it came out this yucky greenish mess; oops!
Today's adventure is all the blues! Into my old Directions Turquoise tub (which had about a teaspoon in it) I put a generous teaspoon each of old Directions Atlantic Blue and fresh Neon Blue, then added a squirt of conditioner and a squirt (maybe a teaspoon) of Adore Indigo Blue before shaking vigorously.
Applied a bit more carefully to freshly-washed and towel-dried hair, left to cook for most of the day, and hey presto - dark blue!
I'll try to get a better picture in daylight tomorrow.
It's darker than I'd like tbh but no doubt it'll fade a bit after a couple of washes. I find Lush shampoo bars ideal for this purpose.
Ooh it looks cute, and it should fade up a bit in no time π
Oooh, I love the dark blue - nice and deep and inky! It looks close to what I have now. π
Oooo looks an interesting mix of bluey shade π
Thanks all π
I took these yesterday in front of the window π it looks inky dark blue most of the time, but in bright light this happens;
Ooh that looks lovely!
Wow, super pretty! π
Hiya! Fade update time!!
Well my fears about rapid fading proved pretty much groundless, I think the runoff I was getting initially was just excess dye. It's now been 12 weeks (really?!) since I dyed, six of those were offshore, washing once a week.
This is what I have now;
Now veering towards more green than blue π getting a little bit yucky. Still have a couple of small streaks that are very blue but it's mostly ... I don't even know what colour I'd call it tbh. Dark turquoise? Teal? Somewhere between blue and green anyway.
(I know it looks a bit wispy, that's because I only have long hair from the top of my head, the back & sides are shaved)
Next step is to deliberately fade this out and try Aquamarine. Hoping it'll take without any more bleaching as the condition isn't brilliant.
I really like the way this has faded on you π
Oh! That faded nicely! Glad it worked out for you! π
