Wool/Kanekalon. Those dreads didn't look very shiny, but maybe it's just the lighting. Kanekalon isn't matt so I assumed it was wool. It might be synthetic stuff though in which case, yeah you could make your own. I made dread ringlets for a doll recently, same as dread making but wound them round a wooden skewer and boiled them for a few seconds to set them. They came out great.

(is it just standard that Audrey has cool hair all the time?)
