Will these work for just applyying shampoo to the tips of my hair? Or do I need to start from my scalp?
Yes, it will work. There's no reason for it to be on your scalp if the colour isn't there.
I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but...if the shampoo suds are tinged with the colour of your dye, does that mean the colour is actually coming out of the hair? Every time I wash my hair the suds turn a faint baby pink, but the red in my hair doesn't look any more faded than before washing...
Yeah, it means it's coming out. But some colours either have a really strong pigment and/or have stained the hair. But if it's turning the suds a colour then it's likely it will fade eventually.
I used a squirt of BFs shaving foam mixed with head and shoulders and deep cleansing shampoo, have used shaving foam on its own too really stripped the colour but very very drying 😉
Thanks both 🙂
Will colour still fade if you have used a colour remover?
Potentially; it depends on how much is leftover colour and how much is staining.
Hmmm yes good point 🙂
I used my husband's Original Mint Source shower gel with I Love Juicy today and loads of colour has come out! I only left it on for a couple of minutes too 🙂

head and shoulders i have heard that mentioned lots never wanted to strip color out this is the first time so watch this space.....lol
Just did pippas fairy liquid, anti dandruff, lemon juice and bicarbonate soda mix. It worked great but didn't touch the hair near the roots. So got a stripe of dark purple around my head. Is there a way to fade this section of hair? Or just keep going until it won't come out anymore, then bleach bath?
I have this problem also. You can try it again, maybe add some heat into the mix? It's probs due to that hair being less damaged than the rest 🙂
Yep, happens to me too. The less damaged hair clings to the colour like no ones business. Not found a way round it yet. My current ombre-ish type thing is because of that.
Meh ill keep trying then, do it again next week. And keep on till my roots need bleaching.
I used Decolour Remover yesterday and it didn't remove my red, but did fade it significantly. However I'm not sure if I'll try it again because I need to grow out a huge chunk of hair I accidentally shaved off when doing my undercut, so want to keep the rest short so it all blends in.
Random question, is it normal for your hair to smell like it's been on fire after the first post-Decolour wash? I found the eggy smell of the remover wasn't as bad as I'd been expecting, and used a strongly-scented coconut shampoo today, but now the egg smell has turned into a "charred" smell ???
