I wish I didn't know this but.....
Hedrin (the nit treatment) fades colour amazingly. My hair had been dyed with directions cerise only a week before, then one of my darling children brought some some visitors. When I rinsed it out in the morning almost ALL of my colour was gone, just a few pink patches but mostly yellowy orange.
Which hedrin treatment did you use? π
I'm trying to fade out my directions poppy red to go violet, I justtried the vitamin c tablets mixed in with anti dandruff shampoo. And it worked great! My hair is about 4 different shades of pink, the ends are a light peachy pink (because I dyed over a dark yellow bleach job) the roots though are still quite bright because they were bleached almost White. I think I'll try to fade again in a couple of days because it was quite drying.
I was gonna post this in the Good Vibrations thread, but it felt like it would be more appropriate here.
At 6am I put a butt load of fairy liquid in my hair. After a couple of hours the bubbles were a little peachy orange coloured, but no big difference. I wanted a lot more fade so I was a bit disapointed, even though I knew I should've expected it. Wrapped my hair in a towel so I didn't get it all over my bed, lay down and watched some TV.
Woke up 4 hours later, realized that I'd left it on WAY too long, rushed to wash it all out.
The water has never ran so orange with dye before, not counting washing for the first few times after dying.
My hair's now a lovely shade of blonde in some areas, but it looks muddy against the bright yellow that Napalm Orange went to. Directions Flamingo Pink doesn't seem to have been touched by it, but I know I can bleach most of that out in one go so that doesn't worry me all too much.
The only down side is that I have to be careful with brushing it. My scalp's a tiny bit sensitive and a tiny bit itchy, but I think that's a fair price to pay for the results. π
want to fade atomic/cupcake mix. I know the methods are drying, but less damaging than bleaching or bleach bathing. But if my already kinda damaged hair is dried out from fading, it will get damaged further right? Whats the best way to restore moisture so that my hair doesnt suffer? I have 3min miracle but i dont want to fake it with silicones. Would kpac or cocnut oil be best? i heard kpac can be drying as well...
I left coconut oil on my hair overnight and the silvery/lilac colour seemed to disappear slightly.. There's so many methods on here to fade your hair colour, I left my special effects purple toner on my hair for too long so now it's got lilac hues in it not to mention baby pink bits from where I had atomic pink originally so I wanted to dull them down for a bit and was gonna try a fading technique tonight.. What would be the best one? When I had my atomic pink hair I didn't know H&S shampoo fades hair and used it all the time for my dandruff lol.. It never faded it though.. So anything nice quick and easy I can try now π thanks xx
Should the hair be wet or dry when applying vitamin c and H&S?

i do it damp like ether wet it with a spray bottle or splash a little on.
I scrunch it into dry hair and sud itup, then wrap in cling film π
Thanks guys. I did it with damp hair, but boy I did not expect the mixture to be so fluffy! I had to change bowl because it kept running over (fluffing over? XD) it was crazy! And then I did a hot oil treatment with coconut oil, but couldn't get it out of my hair so I slept on it and washed it now.
I'm nervous for the results, and since my hair was wet and dark with oil last night I couldn't see any change. I'll get back to you π
Hey guys, sorry if I'm not supposed to post in here, but..
I'm kind of confused. I thought a vinegar rinse was supposed to seal in color? So.. why is it under fading methods?
I cant remember who posted about the vinegar before i added it to the first post but i think it may be different types of vinegar do different things?

Hm, really? When I used to be at the Long Hair Community, they always raved about ACV closing your cuticles and making your hair shine. Now i'm a bit wary of using a vinegar rinse. I hope its not fading me!
i used vinegar rinses to stop the rub off with various red semis.

As I said, I'm not sure. I added it to the main post upon recommendation from another member who I can't recall said it. I'll remove it as wrong advice.
