I think moonfairy just lathered it up and left it for a while.

If I were to try olive oil, how should it be done?

I'd just lather it all on to dirty hair, then put a towel over it. You could (its a bit of a faff but works well to keep the oil working) get some hot water and dunk the towel in it, then squeeze out the excess and pop it on your head. When you feel it getting cold again, re-dunk it in the water.

kitty lost mentioned in another post that conditioner is good for getting oil out, so maybe try washing with conditioner instead?

Yeah, the advice is spot on! I'd just like to add to apply the olive oil to damp hair as there are some oils that moisturise hair and others that just coat the hair cuticle sealing it. So applying to damp hair can moisturise and seal moisture inside the hair cuticle.

Currently been mixing lemon fairy liquid and head and shoulders anti-dandruff in a bowl, applying to dry hair, leaving in for 5-10 minutes whilst ging a loving head massage, then rinsing and conditioning the hell outta it. Not doing it every wash. Rinsing with really, really hot water.

Only done it twice so far, but results are absolutely amazing. Genuinely can't wait to do it again.
Suuuper noticable change for me. πŸ˜€ It's already seeming to edge on pastel somewhat. ( Well, not really, but compared to the starter colour it might as well be. )

Edit: I took some pictures of my progress!

Compared with my almost platinum blonde streak. [Looks more yellow-ish and bright because of artificial lighting. :< ]

All over hair colour. Pretty even fade, to be honest. I'm real happy with it.

Remember my worry about hair loss?
I can now literally pull out hair by the dozens with very, very little force.
I did some digging, and found out that not only is it very common to be allergic to the zinc in most anti dandruff shampoos, but tons of people are having major, sometimes irriversable, issues with hair loss from the use of head and shoulders.

If this wasnt so important, I wouldn't have said much, but you've got to understand that people have gone full on bald from the use of this product.

I'll never be using head and shoulders again, and I'm telling absolutely everyone of this horrific news.

The selenium in anti-dandruff shampoos can also cause hair loss as I found out in one of my chemistry lectures.

I walked into my local lush store and was greeted by a member of staff with AP hair, and she immeadiatly knew i was fading mine out (a bit creepy but hey) She suggested a shampoo called 'I love juicy' by them. Its filled with papaya, pineapple, orange, kiwi, mango and lemon juices. Its meant to be for greasy hair but she said she uses it to fade her hair. I bought a small bottle for around a fiver, lathered, rinsed, lathered rinsed, lathered then left on my head for 5 mins then rinsed. LOOAADSS of colour came out in the water, its taken the neon edge off my AP hair and thats just one use. Plus it smells amazing!

I recently found out that th shampoo "brilliant brunette" is meant for people who are actually brunette, i used it last week and it took loads of my brown hair dye out, stupid me didnt read the back label, which said it takes pigments out of your hair so that your natural colour is more intense, DERP
Anywhay im trying to sade my ends now so now i know its actually quite useful πŸ™‚
