Wow, that came out perfectly, xMoonfairyx!
Great job @xMoonfairyx ! I love doing this technique forcutting my own hair except I don't actually put it in a ponytail, I take a small round section at the crown , cut it, then pull up one small ringed section at a time and cut it to the same point, or graduate them each by a tiny bit if the length is longer at the bottom
I love the color! Not too yellow not too ashy. The haircut is awesome! Love it!
I love this method, used it again the other day
I have used this technique a few times now. Well it's very similar, I just put the ponytail right at the front of my hair line like in this video:
It works very well and I prefer the way it comes out compared to pulling the hair round to the front and cutting hair is down, not tied up). I've tried that tecnique once not sure if I would do it again because I wasn't too keen on the V it created
I have just ordered a Creaclip, at first I didn't think I was going to be able to get one in the UK but they have a UK warehouse apparently so shouldn't need to wait too long for it. If it's no good I'll go back to cutting it in the high ponytail
I tried this today, because my hair had a lot of bleh ends and I didn't fancy going to the hairdresser. I really like how it turned out. I'm so glad I found this topic!
I'm glad it worked out well π I'm jealous of people who can cut their own hair, I can never trust myself not to make a godawful mess.
Haha, well, I was dead scared it would look like a mess too. But I really, really, didn't like the way it looked anymore. And due to personal issues I'm having trouble leaving the house. This looked easy enough, and it was. I just cut small bits at a time.
I didn't have proper hair scissors though, so I used one of the scissors I have in my crocheting stuff. They are very sharp and not that big as to not slip and take a chunk out where I didn't want it to. π

Well they certainly did the job well!
Sorry to hear you're not doing well though. If you ever feel like talking to Internet friends you can always pm me. My inbox is actually not full at this time haha.
(As someone who hides from the outside world every time I'm feeling bad I know it can suck.)
It looks so good! Mine's not long enough to make a high ponytail yet (still growing out the layered bob from hell, 6 months later!) but once it gets long this will be my go to hair style!
Any ideas how I could trim/ freshen up my straggly mid length do? it's hovering somewhere between longer than chin length and shorter than my shoulders at the mo and I can't work out how to cut the back!
You can go the best salon nearby your place and ask them to cut your hair and they will suggest you what hairstyle will suits you.
