It's very rare I can get onto my laptop so I thought I might as well while I'm here πŸ™‚

I wish there were more ideas around for short hair. I do a lot with mine, but I'm always looking for other ideas.. they're just few and far between!

Same here Janine - mind you I am absolutely useless at doing my own hair. I can manage to roll my growing-out fringe up and pin it to one side of my head but anything beyond that and I end up like this  *ott*

I really really want to be able to do one of those mini-French plaits that would also hide my fringe but I've tried so many times and nearly ended up crying in frustration.

I also wish there were a few more of these for short hair :/

But for those mini-plaits, I've found it's really helpful if you look in the mirror, start braiding and then turn away from the mirror and finish it without looking - I'm not sure why it works, probably because you won't be confused by your hands in your reflection, but it always helps me!

Strangely it's always the beginning bit that gets me. Once I get going I can plait very easily (I used to have waist-length hair and wore it in a plait for work so I can easily plait my hair without looking) but that very beginning bit ALWAYS goes wrong!

What do you normally do?

I plait the first two strands without adding anything and then start adding from there.

That's what I try to do, but it just always looks rubbish - bits (not end, but rucked up strands)sticking out, not lying flat etc. I could always do perfect French plaits on my friends - and my My Little Ponies πŸ˜‰ - but on myself, no chance.
