Big Chelsea Mohawk (picture heavy)

This mohawk was done with the help of four friends. I crudely put smile faces to hide their faces because I don't think they want to be put on internet. I'm just respecting them while sharing some awesome punk knowledge.(I would have done something better than lame paint smiles, but it is hard enough for me to post this and entertain my 4 month old son at the same time!) πŸ˜›
I totally suggest having others to help and critique the cutting of the fan. Have fun! Remember hair is just one big accessory! If you don't like how it turns out, just remember, it will grow back. ^_^

I recommend using Got2B Glued Freezing hairspray. It is the strongest hairspray that I've come across and know several other people that have used this for their mohawks. But feel free to use glue, gelatin, or whatever means necessary to get your fan up.

First section your hair. We made my fan thicker in the front and gradually thinner in the back. I kept some hair in the front and bangs. This is known as a Chelsea hawk. πŸ™‚

Start Putting your fan up. Take sections of your hair, brush upwards and spray and blow dry. You might want to practice this. It's good to have a friend help because your arms ARE going to hurt after doing this for awhile. My hair is slightly wavy, I suggest if you have wavy hair to straighten before blow drying your fan up.

Continue to blow dry sections of hair up. You will need to separate pieces and spray them together. That's kinda hard to explain. But..you will understand what I mean as you go along in the process. (Sorry I can't really elaborate that well, it's been years since I've had a huge hawk.)

Ok, Fan is up. Time to think about how to cut it.

Time to cut!! Remember you can always cut more, but you can't put hair back.

Ok, make sure your fan is cut to the length desired. Mine is kinda long. Remember the longer the hawk the more tired and longer it will take for you to put yours up.

Alrighty! Time to buzz the sides to your desired length. πŸ™‚

Shazam! Pow! Badaaabing! Chelsea mohawk complete!!

Hope this helps you all in your quest of fun hairdo's. The mohawk is timeless. Warning: people and strangers may come up and try to touch your epic hair. You may be honked at or yelled at. Some people may even laugh. But you know what, you have cool hair. So have fun and remember, if you don't like it, mohawks don't have to be put up and make an excellent comb over for fancy affairs. πŸ˜‰
Cheers!

Nicely done - thanks
Is odd looking at pics with the smiley faces on them (can fully understand reason for doing this), although they did make me smile too πŸ˜€
