My rainbow was fading, it looked really good before, and it was a fun style to have, but my hair needed a good cut and I needed something a bit easier to keep!
Rainbow (when it looked good!):
I used a colour remover from Sally's - Colour Elimin8 by Rusk (I think). It removed a lot of the richness of the colour in my hair, but left a diluted version of what was there before. Purple had faded to blue, red to pink, etc. I used a conditioning treatment afterwards to keep it soft, but it did seem much less harsh (and smelly) than bleaching.
Afterwards I bleached with 40vol and blue bleach, to get rid of the red/yellow tones, and make my roots light enough to take the green.
(yuk!)
I had three tubs of directions spring green dye:
I soon realised that would be nowhere near enough, and just concentrated on the roots and first few inches near the root, left the tips undone, as I knew I was going to cut them off.
Went to the hairdressers today to get a new style:
I have a little bit of spring green left to touch up the ends, but I quite like the faded effect as well π
wow, loved the rainbow! I so want one myself!
And I really like the green you got now! π
It looks really good, the unintentional faded effect.
It's a really nice minty green almost.
i loved your rainbow, but the green looks wicked!
The rainbow was gorgeous. But I really love that shade of green!
Thanks very much π
I loved your rainbow - one of the best I have seen however I can understand wanting a change and think the colour in your new cut is gorgeous too.
woahh, thats what you call a rainboww.. but the green looks ace! its so vibrant =D
yeah the rainbow was awesome, but trying to keep all the colours from merging, and having to rebleach out where it had merged, caused it to get in quite bad condition. Not to mention I'm tired of cold showers! At least with 1/2 colours there isn't so much to worry about.
No doubt I'll want it back by summer though... although I keep seeing new ideas/ combinations I haven't tried before.
your rainbow was really great but I also LOVE that green!
Oh wow - both look really great, but I bet the green is a whole lot easier to keep looking vibrant!
