Hi all. I'm Vicky and looking for a quick fix. My hair is bleached blonde which was done at the hairdressers in May. I have tried to do my roots at home to save money even though I'm not very clued up on the bleaching process. Anyway I used a Loreal pre lightener and my roots kinda went ginger. I'm naturally a dark mousy blonde. Anyway I didn't want to jump straight to a dye incase the rest of my hair went ginger so used a jerome Russell toner and it has taken the brassiness of the ginger away and it doesn't look to bad but now my hair is fifty shades of blonde lol (really only 3). Start a new job on Wednesday and need a quick fix. If I use a light blonde box dye like nice and easy or something will I get an all over even colour or will I have to go for a cool ash blonde or end up bleaching?
Have you tried using a purple shampoo that can even out different tones, as your hair looks quite light.
Hi thanks for your reply. I used a purple conditioner afterwards john frieda sheer blonde but there's still quite a few shades. It's more gingery at the roots of maybes a strawberry blonde then kinda white ( got the lightener on the already bleached hair) and then another blonde lighter than the roots.
Try a bleach wash on just your roots, only use a 20 vol. though, and leave in on for about 15 minutes or so. If you do an all over bleach wash, I would just keep a close eye on your hair, that it doesn't get gummy.

Yes I can see that in this photo.
I had the same I went from black to blonde in a few months, box dyes was the problem for me.
Now I just use 20 vol and trulites blue powder now, in fact I did my roots at weekend they took thirty minutes with lots of coconut oil on them and the condition is good, and they came out white.
I also have painted out some yellow bits this morning 10 mins with 20 vol and my beloved coconut oil, thats all it took.
I have ordered some schwarzkopf shampoo that was recommended on here just to get it to an ash colour now.
Good luck. *whip*
Ok so rather than mess about with more bleach as I don't really know what I'm doing I decided to go and get a temporary hair dye in ash blonde but I'm now left with a greenish tinge to my hair and the ginger is still there lol. I was thinking of just getting another temp dye. any suggestions?
You need violet to tone out the yellow, ash dyes are generally green based.
Either dilute violet direct dye in conditioner or try something like Pravana Silver, it makes a great blonde toner.
You need to lighten further to get your roots to match, but I would wait at least a month to avoid damage.
Next time, try a professional quality bleach, it really makes a difference to the amount of lift you get as well as the amount of damage.
