Wigs wigs wigs

So I'm going to be living in a small town for the next year while I wait to do my masters and I feel that it would be much easier to get a job if I hid my silly hair so I'm trying to work out a good brand of not terrible looking but hopefully also not too expensive wig.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

I can't help really, but wanted to say I got a wig on ebay years ago, just a cheapy cosplay type wig, but with a hairband on it looked quite realistic. I always think when people style their wigs with accessories they look more natural.

Pippa had a wig for work that was very realistic x

I've never really worn one myself as I know it would be way too hot for me, so no suggestions on getting one.

However, I've observed the same as Glitter. Accessories are the key, especially hiding any partings as they tend to be the give away spots!

If you are going to be wearing it all day every day, i would spend out and get a decent one. You can get human hair for about £60 and upwards. The better quality wigs have more realistic looking partings etc and are cooler and more comfortable to wear.
If you choose synthetic, you can make it look less shiny/artificial by spraying with dry shampoo.

I'd be happy to spend that much, I just don't want one that's like REALLY expensive.

And thanks for the tips. I will accessorise 🙂

I have also been looking for a wig.  The 100% human hair full lace ones are the $$$ ones($500-$1000).  Full lace you can part however you want and put up in a pony tail, braids, etc.  With a lace front you usually get around 3 inches of parting space and a natural front hairline only.  The human hair lace fronts seem to be around $150-$400.  Standard caps do not have a parting.  I have been looking at lace front human hair/synthetic blends - they run around $50.  I was thinking of starting with that, and if I'm able to stand wearing it I will get a full human hair one.

No customers or colleagues guessed it was a wig. I used purple shampoo to tone it silver

I have bought stuff from a site called ioffer, I did a search for wig and lots came up.

Good luck with your search.

I ended up getting this lace front synthetic blend:

It is nice enough, but I don't think I could make it through a work day in it! It's so hot and itchy. My new company has yet to say anything about my hair - hopefully that continues when I have my new sunset colors!
