White hair toner?

Has anyone used Wella t18 toner.  It is mentioned in the white hair tutorial.  i have been trying to achieve white hair for a few years.  I have pale banana yellow hair but I have been afraid to use a full toner on it.  I have heard such good things so I decided to buy some and see how it goes but I am just wondering other experiences with the toner, and the process of doing them in general but specifically this one.

Personally, I don't like oxidative toners. The hair has to be pretty light already for them to work, so you are adding another damaging chemical process to already processed hair. They fade just as quickly as non-oxidative toners, so I don't really see the point tbh.
I like to mix my own toners from conditioner and direct dyes, generally a pink and a purple based blue, but obviously it depends on the base colour and what colour i am trying to achieve. Doing it this way means i can tailor the toner for my hair, and it conditions as it tones.

I achieved my silver by using a silvering shampoo as a toner. I slathered LOADS on, wrapped in clingfilm and left for three hours. The pic in my profile is how it looked immediately after.
