I bought a Hair By Sleek 100% human hair ponytail. Guess what, I'm colouring it and I am pretty sure some strands arent taking the force that is virgin rose.
*ott*
I haven't had this since Sally's sold me a dodgy batch of "100% human" extensions.
Now when I bought them (Pauls Hair World) the woman said "no returns, these are 100% human but we dont recommend you dye them, we have to say that to anyone who buys anything in the store."
But they are human so there should be no reason why i cant put a semi on these.
Fact is I've spent almost £50 on this ponytail, its not 100%, so its not as advertised.
What would you do?
It could be 100% human, just treated with something that makes it resistant to dye. All the human hair extensions I have looked at say they are suitable for dyeing though, so it does sound a bit dodgy.
Got them rinsed and dried, its defo not a coating. the synthetic hair is obvious, its white root to tip, and the human hair is coloured roots to tip. If it was silcone treated it wouldnt be such a uniformed result.
fuming!
At the end of the day i was sold something that wasnt as advertised, regardless of the colouring.
If it is definitely not what you paid for then ask for a refund, i would be fuming too especially if they are selling synthetic at human hair prices. if it is any consolation, the multi tonal pink looks really pretty.
Try burning some of the hair that's not been dyed. If it burns black and/or melts and has a plastic smell it's definitely synthetic. That way you have something they can't argue with.
The white hair melted (and melted together) No doubting now!
They have so far been quick to reply to my emails and have promised to process a refund via Pauls Hair World. I am still wondering if I'll ever get the refund, but they promised today after confirming they got the ponytail.
