What would happen if...?

Can anyone tell me what would happen if I put pink dye on strawberry blonde hair?  Will I get peach?

I posted on here several weeks ago as I was hoping to get my hair light enough to go a pastel shade and went to the hairdressers for an ombre effect.  She didn't listen to what I wanted, did it all wrong and I ended up with 7.3. Colour (WAY too warm.for my skin tone) and highlights so small as to be invisible!  So after waiting 5 weeks I tried lightening it again last night and now it is copper blonde  (around level 8 ).

I knew that it would be warm toned because of the 7.3 the hairdresser had put on so I'm thinking it might be better to work with the warmth for a couple of months rather than try and cool it so I don't damage it too much.

I was considering mixing a touch of directions tulip in with either directions pastel pink or  bleach rose and seeing if it will give me a sort of copper rose which I can live with until I feel happy bleaching again in what will be a final attempt to get  platinum.

If it isn't light enough by then the pastels will be out of fashion anyway!  πŸ˜€

Any thoughts, reflections welcome.  The main problem is having to use permanent dyes to cover up grey roots. Edited:it is around level 8 now, don't know where the sunglass especially icon came from.but I can't get rid of it!

Depends on how copper the copper is and how pink the pink is.

Tulip will totally take over either of those pink dyes. They won't dilute it at all because tulip is very strong. I'm not 100% sure, but I think tulip is on the cool side of pink,  so you'd be better diluting it with quite a lot of white conditioner.

(I edited your post. The sunglasses came from the ) being directly after the 8. 8 ) without the space is the emoticon you use for that, here it automatically puts in the emoji in for you. It doesn't understand grammar unfortunately!) 8)

Hi Janine,

Thanks for your reply,  it isn't very copper, more of a honey blonde with a few reddish bits.  I saw a YouTube video by a Dutch lady where she mixed pastel pink and the tiniest spot of tulip in conditioner to make a rose gold tone but that was on light to medium brown hair.

Might put pastel pink on the lightest bits anyway as it will condition them a bit after the bleach.

Is it a full four weeks you need to leave after bleach (highlighter kit) before doing a bleach bath?

Can you post a photo? It's easier to judge that way.

Yes, you need to wait 4 weeks before doing another bleach, even a bleach bath. You need to be sure it's not more damaged than it seems at first.

Hi Janine,

I will have to wait until someone can take a photo for me as I only have a kindle and you can't take and send photos easily on this.

I posted a pic on page two of this thread called "suggestions for this hair",  it is a shade lighter than that now with lighter highlights,  not as ginger/orange. More of an "antique pine" sort of shade!

I considered using purple shampoo but I prefer to use a baby shampoo when it is first processed to help the condition (my hair is very fine so co-washing just leaves it very lank).

I have a directions white toner in the cupboard and also directions lilac and violet in stock so maybe use the white toner or add some lilac or violet to conditioner? I haven't used the white toner before so not sure what to do with it.

I don't really mind the strawberry blonde stage TOO much as I have often chosen to dye it copper or red in previous years but just fancy a change, it is the grey roots that are becoming a real problem now as I understand only permanent dyes cover grey.
