What the heck is a concentrated colour additive?

This is what I'm looking at - http://www.affinage.com/UK/PRO/products_infiniti_intensives.html

I don't understand how it works! If I added the blue one to a hi lift red dye would it become purple? Or am I being dumb?!

They are for altering the tone or intensifying your permanent color.  If you added blue to a red dye it would likely deepen the shade to a burgundy-ish color.

They obviously aren't pigmented enough to turn a red purple.

Sorry it really wasn't obvious to me I've genuinely never heard of them! Thanks for the info!

That's why they explain it! It's not going to make sense to everyone though, you kinda have to understand how pigments work... but that's why they're really only aiming at professionals. πŸ™‚

I think the whole point of the forum is to ask for advice and guidance when needed and to help others when you can so I wouldn't worry about it ncmcomp x
