What sort of comments do you get while out in public on your hair?

I got people shouting ginger at me when I had bright orange hair, which I thought was odd as it was obviously intentional and therefore not insulting.

I do find it odd that if you have an unusual hair colour it somehow makes people feel they are entitled to comment on it. Most of the time it makes me laugh, like 'Oh my God, your hair is green!' Really? I hadn't noticed lol.
Often I don't get that they are referring to my hair. I have had strangers say 'that is really lovely' or 'is that real?' totally out of the blue and it takes me a while to twig they are talking about my hair.

I was also asked if my hair was real a couple of times. Once it happened with a friend's friend I had just met and my first impression was, I don't like this guy. So when he asked about my hair I just said "yeah you know, for some weird reason my hair is naturally pink." πŸ˜€  but I noticed that green is the color that gets the most mixed reactions. I've had people asking if it was planned to be like that or just a hair dye accident... maybe because that is indeed what a lot of people associate green with, hairstyles gone bad.

Today i had an exam and the professor was checking our ID's and she said "your hair looks beautiful"  8). Its very uncommon for the professors to talk to you during exam especially about hair πŸ˜€

Often have people just randomly shouting "Pink" at me, no s*** sherlock.

Haha that would be amazing.

Today while out in Bangor (where my boyfriend currently lives) a random woman in the lost office touched my hair, but actually touched my shaved bit so she basically touched my head. It was horrible.

Edit: I was saying that would be amazing to wicked pixie's suggestion of dying one's hair half green half orange.

Ewww I hate when people do that, touching hair without asking permission first. I find it annoying on long hair already so on shaved parts must be even worse!
Couple of years ago I was in line for the restroom in a bar and I felt something touching my hair, thought someone was trying to pass and when I turned there were these two girls with my hair in their hands, literally checking if it was real hair or extensions. It was a little creepy...

Kitebunny, do it! and take a hidden camera with you when you go out haha πŸ˜€

The day isn't complete unless you've confused or upset someone, that's my motto.  ;D

mostly people are lovely about it, I regularly get compliments. The few bad "comments" I get (if you can call them that) are not actually nasty or hurtful. No one has ever said I look ugly or immature or whatever, it's usually just something like "Oi, purple!" which is weird but also... uh, yeah I know?

I was going to comment about the age thingy (something like "if this boat has sailed, well mine has sunk and the divers can't seem to find it !" or such πŸ˜› ), it's been pointed already, so yes : Not. A. Problem.

About green : maybe it's a cultural thing cause I barely get any negative comments - if I occasionnally do, I can't remember anything. Mostly comments I get are from children and their moms get all confused "Hey mom look at her hair !" and said mom gets all red in the face :D. Once I had a mother reply to her child who had said "what with her hair ?" --> "it's beautiful" Ooooh was I pleased !
Also I was very very astonished : I live in the country, and whenever I go to a vllage around here, talking to farmers, elderly locals ... you'd think they'd be less open than city people ? Well it's been the opposite. I never feel self conscious with country people, but when I go to a city geeez they do make me feel appart. So much for stereotypes ^^

I lol'd when a kid said 'mommy, look, blue hair!' and she went 'don't be ridiculous', then saw me and went all red and hushed her kid quickly past me. πŸ˜›

I also get the random shout of my current hair colour. Other than that, not many really negative things. Of all my colours, green seems to please people the most. I've gotten the most compliments and likes on pictures when it was green (or greenish teal).

I live in Amsterdam, in which I get a lot less comments or looks than when I'm at my parents' who live in a village near a city that's narrow minded. You don't see much diversity there in clothing, hair colour or anything really. When I walk through the streets there with my husband (he has long hair) people are literally gaping. It's actually quite funny. In Amsterdam, you see so many flamboyant or extravert or different people. And people are just not bothered with others as much, the anonimity of the city I suppose.

That reminds me that some tourist was following me once trying to make pictures of me/my hair. o_o That was kind of weird.

I had to most reactions when my hair was pink. A couple of people stopped me and asked me how they could get their hair like that. Lots of positive comments from strangers, never anything bad.

But at work, there was a summer 'do' which included awards and prizes for stupid things, like 'loudest person', 'person who looks most like a celebrity' etc etc... when the facilities manager came round to confirm attendance of some people, he told me I had received the most votes for 'worst hair'. I don't know if he was joking, I didn't go to the event (never do) but it was quite upsetting.

Got lots of 'likes' when I was lavender for a short spell. The girl in the chip shop told me she loved the colour when it was white/silver/yellow lol.

Only been Pravana Silver since last night, OH seems to like it and only one of my colleagues has even noticed the slight change lol.
