I have used a variety of deep conditioners over the years and just wondered what other people find the best conditioners they have used especially on bleached hair?  *anyone*

Nothing makes my hair feel better than olive oil. Coconut and argan penetrate deeper but olive just seems to give better moisture. I like to mix olive oil with a silicone free conditioner and leave it on for 2+ hrs.

Hask Henna 'n Placenta is good. I have to keep it off of my scalp, though, as it irritates it (I think that's just me and my stupid skin). Also, in case you were wondering, it doesn't dye your hair! πŸ™‚

I have recently discovered Davines Vegetarian Miracle Conditioner. It is ahhhmazing. Pricey, but a little goes a long way.

I actually really like the Bleach London resurrection hair mask. It always makes my hair feel so soft and it looks like it is cone free which is a major bonus. It's also white which makes it super helpful when diluting dye.

The Bleach London Reincarnation Mask (Hindu, not Christian ;)) has amodimethicone listed as the seventh ingredient.

Aha resurrection xD I think I was falling asleep as I wrote that
Aw dammit! Everytime I think I find I nice hair mask or conditioner and I do a quick scan it looks cone free, and its usually after the seventh time when I finally read the ingredients again I see that pesky cone hidden in there.
Thanks for letting me know anyway

Hi! New here, can I just ask please what do you mean by "cone?"

Also in response to the original question, I recently invested in Philip Kingsley elasticisor, but so far, whilst it seems to have really helped with some damaged "chewing gum" areas by my temples after a evil hair dresser mutilated my locks lol, it doesn't seem to do anything about the dry lengths.

Cone is basically short for silicone. It's an ingredient found it most conditioners. In the ingredients it will usually be somethig like dimethicone (most things ending in cone). Basically it's what gives your hair that silky soft slippery smooth feeling. However, it sort of works by coating each hair strand, making it feel soft, but not actually helping the hair get any healthier. This means it gives a false sense of security. Many people think they have healthy moisturised hair but it's just the silicone. The silicone coating is also hard to wash out of the hair (which creatures product buildup and would need clarifying shampoo to get it out) and it creates a barrier, stopping the good ingredients getting into the hair.

I'm pretty sure that's the jist of it and why people go cone free. Feel free to correct me if I've said anything wrong or missed anything.

Edit: for me personally after cutting out all (or almost all) silicone products my hair has a lot more natural body and volume as it's not being weighed down. I can also get nice texture and movement in my hair (I like my hair looking choppy / piecey) whereas when I used conditioner with cones in it my hair would end up flat and dead straight.

Brilliant explanation thank you, I did know that about silicone but I didn't know how to look for it in ingredients and now I do πŸ™‚ guess that's why I don't think WOW right after using Philip Kingsley, I don't believe it contains silicone x
