I am starting to think about how i want my hair when i get married;

I've had a bob for years but I've always assumed I'd have longer hair when i tie the knot so i can have a nice vintage style updo...

Then it made me think about unnatural colours... are they generally a no no??

(i am not actually getting married yet, so this is hypothetical, lol)

Hypothetically, it is YOUR wedding so how can anything you are/like be a "no no"?

You can always match your hair to your flowers and colour scheme.

Yeah, nothing is a no no when it's your wedding!

You also wouldn't need much more length for a very cool vintage updo.

I would love to have mad coloured hair if I was getting married. I think it looks incredible with white/ other weddingy coloured dresses.

TYeah, i suppose you're all right.

I guess its my insecurity about the colour of my hair being acceptable to most of society, plus i think i heard someone say something about growing colour out for their wedding and it got me thinking...

I love the idea of coordinating it with the wedding colours.

Its just me getting excited because my bf took me to get my ring finger measured last weekend, so i'm starting to overthink things (oh god, what will i be like when it does happen) we've been together 10 yrs this August so i have a feeling he may propose on our anniversary (but every time we go somewhere romantic i wonder if this is the time, lol)

I sound a bit crazy but i'm not, honest!!!

I wanted to be bright when I married. But my grandfather isn't fond of the bright colours and I kept my hair natural so he had 'normal' weddings pictures. It's silly, and he probably doesn't even know I did it for him. I plan to celebrate our five year wedding anniversary with bright hair though. 🙂

There really isn't a no go about someone's wedding. You decide how and what and when, nobody else does. It's your day, do as you please! I know it comes from someone who did adjust, but still.

And from someone who never adjusts themselves to please others - do as YOUUUU (and your partner) wish! Its your and your partners special day! Changing just for that one day to appear "normal" might make you regret it for so many years later 🙂

Besides cool wedding pictures are so much fun to look at, as someone who is very much against the whole "ceremony", I adore alternative sided wedding photos! 😀

I love how brides look with bright hair. Especially with a bouquet to match.

I got married with purple and green hair amd wore a necklace with the word 'cunt' on it. It's your and your partners day. As long as you're happy that os really all that matters 🙂

I had black hair when I got married - but wore electric purple because I hate myself in white. My wedding, my choice - your wedding, your hair, your choice!

i actually have a different opinion on this.  i love colored hair, and i've been dying mine since high school.  but, i faded the bright color out of my hair for my wedding.  on the day of, it was mostly my natural color, with bleached bits showing at the very ends.

my thoughts were, while it might have been cool to have kept my colors, i was worried that twenty years from now, i'd be disappointed in myself while looking at pictures.  i didn't really want my wedding album to be all about my hair, you know?  but, my personality wasn't lost because my hair was a normal color!  i mean, wore back-seamed fishnets, zebra print shoes, and royal blue crinoline under my gown!  <3  everything was still very KAT! and colorful.

I'm not sure why your hair being an unnatural colour is any different to the clothes you wear. You might look back in 20 years and wonder why on earth you went for zebra print shoes, why did you make it all about the shoes!

See what I'm saying?

I understand. But in 20 years, everything from your dress to your earrings can be seen as a bad, bad choice, just because of fashion. That is my point. The hairstyle you went with you might regret. The make up. It could be anything. Thinking 'I might regret this' actually isn't the best reason for choosing not to wear something.

Being the age I am, 41, I have a lot of friends that got married in the late 80s and early 90s. Most hate the hairstyle they had and one totally loathes the veil and tiara she had!

I'm not trying to diss your choice, anyone can do what they want!
