I was all set to buy this to try and save my hair but then it dawned on me that it's not vegan so now I'm stuck as my hair is on it's last legs and I have no idea what I can use that's animal friendly.
Will using things like coconut oil and avocado be enough or do I need to bring in the big guns regardless of my vegan aspirations.
It's really up to you. try the vegan options, there are some interesting sounding vegan hair mask recipes out there with avocado and banana and stuff, I think I recall there being a thread on here about it.
If they give your hair the repair you feel it needs then great! If you still feel it needs something more then you can look in to other products, but if you want to go vegan then it's always worth trying first and seeing where you end up.
I don't know if there are any vegan alternatives to the proteins used in hair masks in products you can buy.
There are lots of recipes to make your own though, just make sure it contains some form of protein.
I love the avocado , egg and oil mix. Leaves my hair really soft. Its very easy to find the recipe on google
Edit: JUst realized, I forgot to say that the egg can be replaced with almond milk. Cant believe I forgot that when the topic is Vegan ๐ฎ
For a vegan protein traitment for hair you might want to try soy sauce - I know, I know, but try it ! First clarifying shampoo, then mix some (preferably low salt) soy sauce into whatever you want ... I did it with rooibos tea, leave it for a while, then rinse and condition. I did it once a,d loved the result, I should do it regularly but can hardly find the courage to shampoo and dye, so .... ><

Wow this sounds interesting and I will give it a go as I have tones of soy sauce.
I've tried avocado and it was ghastly, to top it off, I left it on to long and it dried my hair no end resulting in more breakage lol
