Bringing this back because I'm wondering Janine, which curlformers do you use?

If you mean size, I use the pink and orange wide ones, in long I think. The short ones are really short, so I have a few of those for the nape.

Having said that, I've started just putting in a few pin curls at the neck. Having the curlformers resting on my neck and shoulders means the ones that the nape pull a bit on my scalp and hurt if I'm trying to work or something.

How long are the long ones? As my hair's down to my armpit if I stretch it out so I don't know if I need the long or extra long ones, also how many do you need for a full head?

Get the extra long then. The long are too long for most of my hair, but with the hair on top it's getting closer to full length.

I got a pack that has 40 in and then 10 short ones. I have such thick hair that I need pretty much all of them depending how small the sections are. I would actually prefer smaller sections and more formers, but it would take me more time that I can be bothered to take! Though, it would dry faster.

I brought the cheapo version on amazon, I need way more than the 40 I have to get a decent curl. I have to use quite small sections to actually get a result on my hair

I've just seen this post, really want to get some! Random question - is the gel they mention necessary? Or if you just let hair air dry in them without gel - will they still have curled?

they will but it depends on your hair 🙂 I'm wanting to try them with gel as my hold doesn't keep curls  very well

I don't use any product at all. I just find it makes my hair feel worse and doesn't make it hold more.

Georgey, actually I do need more than 40 too. I forgot I bought a couple of packs of 10, so I probably have more like 50-60.

I need to get me some too, my curls in the winter become too frizzy on their own, maybe with curlformers i can manage it better

EDIT: What about this type of curlers do they work if you actually have curly hair? I only have big problem in the back low layer of my hair it gets all tangley and frizzy...

Hmmm i guess because it's too thin so it gave you very small curls. I am not sure if there are thicker that these.
