Touching up roots

So I am a natural blonde, level 9-10. Last week I dyed my hair for the first time. I applied a red filler then went golden brown. This week I'm planning on going to dark brown,2-3 level. My concern is when it comes time to touch up my roots. Should I fill, dye golden brown and then dark brown again( just roots)? Should I just fill the roots then go straight to dark brown? I'm very new to hair dye and I won't pay someone to do it if I can do it myself. Please help!

You should be fine filling and then dark brown.

Though, you really should wait a few weeks before dying your hair again. Damage can take several weeks to show up.

Yes I would recommend you take 2-3 weeks off from dying, but preferably over a month in my opinion.
