Hi,  I've been growing my hair, but it's looking very damages and breaking almost the whole length,  is the only option to have it cut up short?

What is the recent history of your hair? What is it like?

I use b red and directions,  I've been in and had a cut today,  apparently it's not as bad as I imagine,  I think I noticed it this week as been in the pool at centre parks,  chlorine isn't the best,  but it's feeling better now,  I'll keep on with the coconut oil and make sure to just b Red the roots... I had it in my head that a crew cut was my only option!  😂😂

Personally I'd try most everything before cutting it off, lol. It's amazing how hair can recover sometimes. My last bleach was a disaster and left my hair dry and elastic, some strands matting together like chewing gum, coming off when I touched it in gross, curly little noodles. I panicked, obviously, and slathered it in K-Pak and then a deep conditioner also by Joico, and my hair is better already! I mean, it's obviously not the same as it used to be, but it's now resembling hair instead of overboiled noodles.

So yeah, unless you're keen on a pixie I'd say try everything. Do protein packs (K-Pak is amazing!) and all sorts of moisturizers, and leave it the heck alone in between. Go as long as you can between shampooing or just wash it with conditioner. Stay away from heat and be careful with wearing ties - don't tie your hair in the same place everyday. Basically, just baby it like crazy!

Of course, there's a point where the damage is simply top bad, but it sounds like there's hope for your hair, definitely!

Just to add, hair doesn't actually recover... it can be patched up with protein and damage can be disguised with silicones in conditioning products, and the texture can be improved but it can't fully recover from damage, so I wouldn't consider the hair 'fixed' enough to say, bleach over the damaged parts etc. (not meaning to contradict anyone but just wanted to clarify for later readers!)

If your hair has split ends or breakage it is advisable to cut off the ends as damage travels up the hair shaft and can make it impossible to grow the damage out.

Sometimes though just a trim can make a lot of difference!
