Hello,
I'm looking to get back into swimming, and I hope to seeing 4-5 times a week. I'm not worried about fading, but I'll try and keep it to as little as possible. What I am wondering about is if chlorine will affect the colour of my hair. I know it can give a green tint and my hair is currently Napalm Orange, so almost the opposite end of the colour wheel! Do you think the chlorine might affect the colour? (I know it's impossible to give a solid answer, but just wondering!)
Thanks for taking the time to read this!
(Edit: I am looking to transition from orange to green eventually anyway)
It never made pink a funny colour for me. It is extreme fading though!
Perfect, just what I was hoping! Thank you!
Edit:
Just wondering how to go about washing my hair after swimming. Is there a way to minimise washing? I wouldn't want to be washing it every day with shampoo, it'd be far too harsh! Sorry if these are silly questions. I've never been swimming with bright hair before!
I would just slop some conditioner through it, personally.
I've found leaving the chlorine in is way more harsh than washing it each time. I tried just rinsing and adding conditioner, but it was a nightmare.
I got a swimmers shampoo and when rinsing out the conditioner I made sure some was still left in and then sometimes even added a bit more as a leave in.
Thank you both very much!
I don't think I will be able to get a swimmers shampoo for a little while as I can't seem to find it in the shops around here (small town in Ireland). Would clarifying shampoo work for now and then I can order some online?
I'm actually kind of excited for my hair to fade quicker. I've always stayed one colour for months on end before changing to another. This is a good way to shake things up more often!
Thanks again!
It'll help, but don't bleach in the until you get the swimmers shampoo. Just in case you get any nasty surprises from minerals in your hair from the water!
Do you have Boots in Ireland? I'm assuming not. That's where I get mine, even in really small branches. You can get it on Amazon though.
Oh we do have boots here in Ireland (I wish we had Superdrug here too though)! I'll have to have a better look around next time or online. Is there a particular beans you find good?
Thanks again
