Second Colour Remove or Just Redye Now?

Hi guys.

I've just used colour remover to get a fairly bright purple out.  I am now quite a dodgy blonde/ginger.

I'd like to go a nice mahogany but would prefer not to walk around looking like this for a week to do the whole avoid re-oxidation thing.

Question - should I go for another colour remove, or am I safe to just bung the mahogany colour straight on?  I'm happy to just cover the ginger, and I'm guessing the purple won't spring back into action, but I'd just like to make sure.

Thanks guys.

I would say if your already at a ginger color then you shouldn't need another colour remover, the mahogany should cover right over top of that. What are you using to color over top? semi? demi? or permanent hair color?

Hi.  I'm thinking a semi this time around and then keep to that until I get the tone right.  Sound like a decent plan?

What colour was your hair prior to the purple dye? There is no point doing another colour remover if there is no more dye to remove.
What type of dye is the mahogany? If it is a direct dye (ie no peroxide needed) it is fine to use straight away.
If it is a dye that requires peroxide, it could cause the purple to re-oxidise if all the old colour molecules haven't been fully rinsed out of your hair.
You can check by putting developer on a strand and seeing if it darkens

I'm dark blonde/mouse.  I was going to go for permanent, but now I'm thinking of just a semi permanent.  Would a normal brown with no red it be better for coverage?

As long as it is a true semi ie a direct dye, one bottle only, no mixing then the colour is entirely up to you. Adore have a great range of direct dyes in natural colours, or you could go for an unnatural colour in the red family.

Fab.  Thank you.  I'll be at the shop early before anyone sees me!  Take care.  x
