Hi! I've been dying my hair charcoal grey with Nirvel permanent Grey hair dye (bleached to level 10) Now I want to go darker again (my natural color is a level 4 brown) but in the eggplant/ plum shades. Can I just color over the grey or do I need to fill with some kind of neutral base first? Thanks!!

Purple will cover the grey, but it is likely to be more muted. If you want a more vivid purple just fade the grey first.

I did a baking soda and lemon soak and it faded well. I can see a bit of blond peeking through. Next move is to try the Head n'shoulders!!
