As a job hunting compromise I'm thinking about dying most of my hair black and leaving the tips teal (my current colour). Does anyone have any methods for getting a nice gradient when dying hair from the top down? All the ombre tutorials I can find are for adding bleach/colour to the tips, whereas I want to colour the top of my hair and leave the ends as they are.

The combination of colors is just amazing, as for me. It doesn't follow the standard dark-to-light gradient.
