I usually use coconut oil when bleaching my roots ive not been able to get hold of any.I got one of those little bottles of Olive Oil from chemist which you use on your body skin hair etc
Do you think this would work? as I really want to redo hair either tomorrow or Thurs and cant get into town till Friday,or would it be better waiting and wearing a cap πŸ™‚

No. It's not got the same properties as coconut oil (mind is blank at the moment, so I can't remember what) and it won't do anything.

Having said that, it may still protect your scalp, if not your hair. I really only use it now for my scalp as my hair hates coconut oil!

It isn't just the protein with coconut oil, it is to do with the lauric acid content and its chelating action. So only coconut oil actively protects the structure of the hair during bleaching. (Although I believe argan oil does too to a lesser extent, but coconut oil is waaaaay cheaper lol.) As a deep conditioner, olive oil is great for moisturising, but again you really need coconut oil for protein loss.
