Need help matching extensions!!

Hi! Okay so the other day I went and bought hair extensions in a medium brown shade. My hair was a dark blonde/light brown and I bought a medium brown dye. Now the shade of my hair matches pretty decently, maybe a bit lighter, but the tones are completely off. The extensions have way more orange/reddish tones. So now I'm not sure what to do because I don't want my hair to get much darker and I'm a bit hesitant about using a reddish brown in case it goes too red. Now that I'm looking more though the extensions really look quite red under bright lights.

I attached a picture of a bit of my hair over the extensions.  Didn't feel like straightening it all lol. This is directly under artificial light. My hair looks really blonde but I swear when I'm not directly under a light and even looking straight on in daylight my hair looks like it matches and is a medium brown. I wish I had pictures in more lights. So I'm not sure what to do now. I do have a natural medium brown hair dye that says it has 3 salon tones so maybe that would work? I don't know. Any advice is appreciated!

you could try one of the Adore browns. They are direct dyes so they don't damage the hair and if it doesn't match, they are much easier to fade and remove than box/permanent dyes. Adore has a good range of browns and you can even mix the shades to get the desired color.
Matching extensions to hair is easy, but hair to extensions can be tricky, so be patient.

ETA: you definitely need to add some red tones to your brown.

If it matches in some lights and not others it's termed a metameric failure. Basically the dye appears to change color under different lighting conditions. My concern is that even if you dye your hair to match that it's not going to be a match in every light. You could dye the extensions with the same dye as your hair but it could seriously damage them unless you use a non-damaging dye like Adore. If it were me I'd try to find some that match as closely as possible in every light even if that means eating the cost of the ones you have now.
