I seem to be totally obsessed with any hair falling out my head :/
I take it, the hair that sheds from the roots and has shorter regrowth is just naturally shedding hair?
That it's stopped growing at some point?
I'm so confused.
The hair on my head has longer roots?!

Each hair grows for a set amount of time (which varies from person to person) then falls out. That follicle then has a dormant period before it grows a new hair. So if the fallen hairs have less regrowth than the hairs on your head, yes they have stopped growing and are completely normal.

That makes complete sense. i looked at the root of the shedded hair and I was like, wtf, its like 3 mm compared to the half inch of roots on my head!!!! i think I probably would have released eventually but in my panic!.....
