My poor, poor scalp

So I've been working on fading my color without any bleach or peroxide. I love the vitamin c and baking soda methods with dish soap (mixed with a bit of baby shampoo because it helps with the squiggy feeling) and because I've always been super liberal with conditioner, my hair feels fine and soft. Sadly, my scalp is so dry. I've never had this problem before and while I want this color out of my hair, I don't want to do anything else until I can get my scalp back on it's feet, if you will.

tldr; Does anyone know what methods are best for helping poor scalps that have turned dry from fading techniques other than bleach and peroxide?

Best thing to do is leave it for a few days and let your natural oils build back up.  These fading methods are very harsh on hair and scalp, so it's really best not to do more than one or two a week, spaced well apart.

My scalp is exactly the same when I try and force fade. I even get a dry and flaky forehead. Coconut oil is my saviour, rub it into your scalp and just let it absorb or apply to both scalp and hair and leave overnight. Coconout and olive oil are a good mix too. In the morning smooth conditioner through to disperse the oil before rinsing. The second method will also take more colour out. I agree with Intempestivity, definitely give your hair a break from shampoo and let the natural oils replenish.

I agree, mixing coconut oil and olive oil and letting it soak in overnight does wonders. I used it fir my son and daughter when they had  dry, flaky scalps (cradle cap? Idk) and it took care of it within a day or two.
