Multicolour dying

Hello all,

I'm currently a white blonde on a break from 4 years of red / pink mixing. I'm looking to get back into the colour game with a blue / turqouise fade...my question is how do you guys dye multipy colours?!

Should I do the blue, concentrated on the head, rinse, then dip dye the turq? or bleach the ends then dip dye?

I don't want it to be a perfect colour cut or perfect fade...just not a hot mess!

Any advice / help would be great! Thanks.

I've always done two fading colours at the same time!

Start with the root colour and take it right above where you want the fade to begin. Then do the bottom colour and leave a gap between the two (so stop right below where you want the fade to end). With a gloved finger, rub the colours into the gap and into each other. This will make a soft blend without a harsh line.

The other option is to mix the two colours in a bowl and apply that in between the dark and light areas, blending it where it meets.

When I do a gradient I don't leave a gap between the two colors - I just apply the top color super saturated at the root and down to about an inch before I want the blend, then drag the color downwards.  I apply the second color directly on top of where I drug it down and then to the end.  Same effect, less steps ๐Ÿ™‚

Sorry, this is actually what I do!

I somehow missed the part about the gap, I don't do that.. Sorry, I was reading while on the train and was starting to get travel sick so guess I just misread!

Ah yes, I use both ways!

I found this video on YouTube that shows the general idea well. One colour near the roots, one colour on the ends and blending in between:

PINK TO PURPLE OMBRE HAIR
