Ok, so I've decided I wanna go pink. I have two bottles of atomic pink sitting in my bathroom, however, I don't want to go super super bright.
I was going to purchase Cupcake pink, however my Student loan has decided to take it's sweet time in getting transferred to my account.
So, Would it be possible to dilute the atomic pink to a similar shade to cupcake pink?
If so, how much conditioner would I need to use, and would it have the same crazy staying power atomic pink has?
I can sense I won't want pink hair for like 4 straight months, another reason I'm put off by the atomic π
Any suggestions welcome π
Yes, diluted Atomic Pink is almost identical to Cupcake pink. It will last longer than other dyes, (which is why i love SFX for pastels) but the longevity will depend on how light you make it it, it won't last indefinitely like straight atomic pink.
Start with a bowl of white conditioner (enough to fully cover your hair) and add a pea sized amount of Atomic pink, stir well. Leave it to sit for at least half an hour then stir again and check the colour, add more pink if necessary. I have found that SFX can go a bit grainy when diluted, but the specks disperse better after it has been sitting, and also that the colour will darken in the tub. So I always make my pastels the day before and give them a really good stir before applying
I'll only need a pea sized blob to get the same shade as SFX cupcake?
My goodness that's awesome π
Atomic pink is really strongly pigmented, but i am guessing at the amounts. It will only be a small amount, so start with a pea size and add more as you need it. When i make up a batch of dye i need at least 300ml of conditioner because i have a lot of hair, so you will need considerably less if your hair is the length in your avatar pic.
It is, but I'm dying some extensions also.
You're a life saver, I shall have pink hair <3
