My current hair care routine is:
I wash my hair using K-Pak Color Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner, i am trying to transition from an every day washer, to less frequent, i.e. every other day or longer.
I plan to use Joico K-PAK Deep Penetrating Reconstructor monthly
I was previously using Aussie products but thought the above regime would be sufficient, but i now understand i need a moisturising treatment, which i'll use weekly & i picked up 3 minute miracle colour mate, but i was wondering if there is anything else i could use as an alternative?
Thanks π
I'm an everyday washer but do you not find your hair is more oily when you wash it everyday? Just me? *anyone*
Have you tried any of the Matrix Biolage products? They seem to be rated highly.
If you're trying to go longer between washes have you tried cutting out sulphates? (if you go down this route you may also need to cut out silicones as they can build up on your hair making it lank) or conditioner only (CO) washing? Both helped mind loads - as neither strip the natural oils from your scalp, and with the use of Bastiste dry shampoo I've gone from an everyday washer to a once every 3 or 4 days washer.

well they do say that your hair creates more oil to compensate for regular washing, i always thought my hair needed to be washed daily, but i touch it constantly & was causing the problem. Also, i never felt clean unless i had freshly washed hair, but again, i think thats down to touching it constantly.
I haven't tried them, or even heard of them- are they available in the UK?

I am planning on cutting out sulphates, but i just bought a 1lt bottle of the shampoo and conditioner I'm using, so i think i will try once I've used it all, i'll look for one without sly, hopefully i'll be washing less regularly by then too. I am also thinking about trying co washing after that. I'm slightly scared of cutting out cones though as i tried a loreal shampoo a couple of years ago when i was using box dyes (which i have since learned had no cones) and i switched to aussie because the loreal one *made* my hair feel awful (i.e. no cones to make it feel silky)
I also have hair serum's, heat protectors, etc which i use & have already got which contain cones, so i would like to use them up and look for suitable alternatives too, rather than waste them.

True. I can't go 5 minutes without touching my hair haha.
Yes you can get it on amazon or sallyexpress. I think the products average from Β£10-20. Also it's not rated much on the UK Amazon so if you go to the US Amazon I think you'll see more reviews. This website has the brand in stock and the reviews are pretty good on it - http://www.lookfantastic.com . This is a UK site. Good Luck! Let me know if you end up getting any of the products.
Joico's Intense Hydrator was great for adding moisture back in to my hair. Keep in mind that the silky feeling you'll get from Aussie will be because their products are silicone heavy, not because they're actually adding moisture in to your hair. The Intense Hydrator has something in it (can't remember what just now) that helps the hair retain moisture and actually draws moisture in to the hair as well.
